We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in December at the Le Meridien, Piccadilly in London, U.K. The location itself is fabulously in the center of many thing to do and see. Between the tube station located on the corner, the bus stop in front of the hotel, or the convenience of walking throughout Soho and the surrounding neighborhoods, we were able to see a tremendous amount in one week's time.
The rooms themselves are nice, but old. That is not a complaint, just a fact. We stayed in two different rooms(of the same booking level), and some are better and more well appointed than others. One had two separate bathrooms, and was a spacious corner room and the other was half the size and had a single bathroom. Both were very nice though, and the beds slept very well.
The staff were all friendly, courteous, and helpful. The concierge helped us get tickets to a sold out show at the O2, and they were very accommodating with all aspects of handling, delivering, and storing our luggage for a full week while we traveled on to another destination in the middle of our stay.
We elected to upgrade to "club level" which included afternoon tea, breakfast, cocktails, and snacks in a club lounge. By SPG standards I would consider the club to be average or just above. It was however very convenient and a great value for the amenities it provided.More
