“yes its TRUE - there are SMOKING ROOMS”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

my other half smokes so to find a REAL london quality hotel that still has smoking rooms available is truly wonderful - thats was more than enough for her - the rest of hotel is immaculate & yes as its a 5* hotel the staff are excellent. Only disappointment - no DRAUGHT beers in the bar - all bottled - 1st time we've ever had that in a hotel !

Room Tip: HILTONs in london - the places to stay if you smoke

I booked this break for two rooms as a joint birthday celebration for my partners birthday and my sisters 50th birthday. A theatre break weekend at what i believed to be a TOP 5* hotel, this is by no means a 5* hotel ! We have stayed at a lot of Hilton hotels and are Hilton Hhonors members but we will not re-visit this hotel. Our room was more like 3* standard, with only a double bed as the room was not really big enough for anything bigger, a brick wall view and a bathroom that simply seemed out of place ! and to top it off somebody came into our bedroom without knocking on the Sunday morning ! to be fair the staff/manager were very apologetic about this and knew which maid's card had been used to open the door, and did offer us free parking as a gesture of goodwill.

We went on a Theatre Break and thought we would treat ourselves and stop at the Waldorf. What a disappointment I have stopped in better 3 star hotels. The rooms were small guessing because it was a theatre break you get the worst rooms available. There was no curtains up just voils, the shower let water come through the bottom of the door causing the bathroom to flood, I actually slipped on the wet floor. The TV had been put on the wall to low so you could not move the bracket because of the cupboard underneath. There was no mirrow in the room only the bathroom, unless you count a hand mirrow in the cupboard with the stainless steel cup and saucer.
All in all I would not go back there you can find better hotels in London for your Money, in my opinion some of the cheaper hotels I have stayed at were better than the Waldorf very disappointed in the room.

We took an executive frontal suite, which was superb: roomy, comfortable & well furnished,
with extra-large bed. Full marks. At our upper level, there was no invasive noise from traffic below, in fact it was pleasing to watch the activity.
The executive lounge facilities were worth the extra cost; quiet and discreet with constant hot & cold buffet food in the evening, alongside a range of good licor. The buffet breakfast was perfect, offering a perfect spread in comfortable surroundings.
Every member of staff gave perfect and attentive service - including the doorman. The staff were
impeccable, mostly East European. Specially recommend the cocktail bar staff, food & service.

Room Tip: Pay up & face the music: the exec level is worth the extra.

Tired hotel with poor breakfast service.
Don't confuse this with a Waldorf Astoria
Swimming pool looks as though it may collapse at any moment.
If it wasn't for the location it would have little going for it.
Next time I will try the Hilton London bridge

Selected for its central locations we walked London's sites from end to end. Great stay with comfortable nice size room modernized with all the usual fittings. Breakfast buffet was very good and worth the upgrade. Room was at the rear of the hotel on 4th floor and was very quiet. I could imagine the street front rooms are very noisy from the buses that queue up outside the hotel. We did not use the bar or restaurant as they are far more interesting locations outside to explore, although it certainly looked nice and was well frequented by other guests.

Only negatives were having to pay of internet and surprisingly rather impolite doorman. Not enough to warrant any great drop in points. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good central location.

Room Tip: Well worth the upgrade to queen deluxe to get the breakfast and a room at the back of the hotel away...

Had a great stay wife my wife in an executive room. The lounge is a lovely bonus. Dinner in the restaurant was great. Can't fault our stay. The staff were very helpful. We asked to have our champagne in our room which they were happy to do and brought an ice bucket and 2 chilled glasses. Oh best club sandwich from room service. Yes it's a little expensive but hey it's a treat.
Would recommend to anyone
