We attended a fantastic wedding reception this weekend. The wedding breakfast and food served was very well done and the food was served promptly at each table and was delicious.

Our room was large and well appointed, on the first floor overlooking the front. Beautiful, huge and comfortable bed. A decanter of sherry left in the room for us, but no bottled water, I used the bathroom water!

Breakfast ok, although they ran out of fresh fruit and it wasn't stocked up.

Although service at the wedding was excellent, the service in the Orangie prior to the reception was appalling. We were ignored for over half an hour with staff deliberately turning their heads away as they walked past us when we were trying to catch their attention.

The charming restaurant manager finally rectified it all and from then on the service was excellent.

This is not the first time we have been to the hotel and unfortunately have found the service to be poor and staff very unattentive and dismissive.

Delightful location and beautiful hotel, but staff generally not attentive.

Came for afternoon tea and left v disappointed...there was a wedding on so it was v busy: the through traffic through conservatory door meant door was open for long periods : chilly. There was a steady constant stream of people in outdoor gear and hiking boots passing through the area where we were seated...it was like having tea on a busy train platform! the food tasted and looked good, but we had to ask for so many cream and jam refills as the portions were so inadequate, it was just embarrassing. And then, when we got the bill we had been over charged as more champagne was added than we had ordered. When I pointed this out, the waitress acted like she didn't believe me and when she returned with the correct bill there was no attempt to apologise for their mistake. The art sale rather ruined the ambience: Nice pictures for some tastes but completely wrong setting. Appalling: if you want to go out for a nice high tea there are lots of places not so far away that do a whole lot better for a lot less. Not very nice experience, terrible value. I won't be coming back.

I have just had my x0 birthday party at Cannizaro House! Having been married there five years ago, it was an easy decision to return. The venue is faultless - from the GM (Geoff) to our host (Alfie - superb!). Nothing appears to be too much trouble.

Could not recommend it more!

My daughter has just got married at the cannizaro hotel we all spent the weekend there. It's the most spectacular place to get married or stay. The room was fantastic everything you could need was there, the room was spotless with complimentary port and water supplied.the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The view over Wimbledon common was spectacular. The wedding went without a hitch all organised to the highest standard the manager was outstanding he could not have done more, his staff were also wonderful. The food couldn't have been better cooked to the highest standard. If I had my time over again this would be the place to get married. Thankyou all for your hard work to make the wedding spectacular.

Room Tip: The suites are spectacular

We should not really write a review about our own wedding, but hey ho .
Nicola did a great Job putting the day in place, whilst Alfie was an absolute star, he was calm, professional and had an air of authority, he made the evening.

Food et al was perfect in our opinion , thank you all once more,

( suggestion, please do not clear the dance floor at 1.30 am in the morning, my uncle and auntie were woken up, as they were on the ground floor opposite the reception room

This hotel certainly has style and has a mantle of luxury about it; but at what cost. I think this is exemplfied by the lighting in the bedroom where the light from the bedside lamp is insufficient to read by, the shades being black. I removed mine during our stay to have enough light. The light over the basin in the bathroom shone down from above instead of being at the sides. This has the effect of making it very difficult for ladies to attend to their faces. The bath was so deep as to be almost unusable by all but the agile and athletic. The loo was positioned so close to the wall as to allow very little lateral movement in one direction and the loo roll holder was not thoughtfully positioned. The bath drained slowly. The flat screen TV was a good size but the remote failed to function due to a flat battery (which was quickly replaced at our request). The aircon controls were a mystery. Only two tea bags graced our DIY brew kit, which seemed a trifle mean.
The breakfast was generally very good but language problems caused delays as well as the services of two waiters to produce our order. And how much more economical too it would be to have a buffet, as the portions were large enough to ensure a fair amount of waste. And why is it necessary to offer unripe fruit to guests?
The lighting throughout the hotel is unnecessarily subdued which is a pity as the public rooms have some fine features.
On the plus side, the hotel is clean and generally well-maintained; the staff were amicable and did their best. The hotel is adjacent to a magnificent park and Wimbledon common offers endless possibilities for joggers and nature lovers. Nearby Wimbledon village is delightful.
In summary, we enjoyed our stay at the Cannizaro but at the same time felt that it showed many lost opportunities that would have otherwise made it a first class hotel.
I would rate the hotel good rather than average but the above categorization does not allow anything between Very Good and Average!

My son organised his wedding reception at the hotel for 21st Setember. Most of the guests had overnight accommodation and close family had two nights.
Firstly, the reception was without fault. Attention to detail was breath-taking and organised with such professionalism. Did however come at a cost, but I guess you get what you pay for these days.
The reception food was nothing short of five star with service to match.

Exceptional hotel accommodation with beautiful, well appointed rooms. Must not forget the beautiful attached grounds.

Altogether, a brilliant venue for a wedding & a hotel break.

Room Tip: Good to get a room at the back of the Hotel with views across the Parkland.
