“As Our Trip Continued, We Missed Hotel Indigo”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We started our European vacation in London at Hotel Indigo. It has been recently remodeled, is super clean and modern and has friendly staff. Love the Aveda amenities. Love the free treats in the mini bars. Love how close it is to the Tube station.

What we loved the most was the Mansion Bar and Lord Magic (all the staff are Lords and Ladies....don't read too much into this, but it is amusing). The bartender at Mansion is a genius. No the drinks are not cheap and do not go here is all you want is a beer. The bartender is an artist who makes every drink with attention to detail and great craftsmanship. My birthday beverage was a one of a kind crafted with me in mind and it was magnificent.

We moved on to a more expensive, and very disappointing hotel in Paris. A big part of what made it disappointing was missing the staff at Hotel Indigo!

I would highly recommend this hotel.

Dear CalGirl86,

Thank you for your lovely feedback.

Here at the Hotel Indigo London - Kensington Earl's Court we have set ourselves high expectations when delivering our guest experience, therefore we are very glad to see that Majeic really did deliver exceptional service to your throughout your stay.

I am not sure if you know the story behind the Lord's and Lady titles? I'll give you a quick overview- The hotel is set in the Victorian era due to the history of the building, therefore we have adapted the Victorian theme and the 'lord and lady servants' that existed during that era. So now for all of our guests they will be served by only a Lord or a Lady.

Regards,
Emmi

The hotel Indigo is a great place to stay and is very reasonably priced. The staff are quite helpful and friendly and the bar makes a fanstantic gin martini (although drink price is fairly steep...welcome to London). Location of the hotel couldn't have been easier to get to from the airport by simply taking the tube direct to the Earl's court stop and walking less than a block. The room was not as small as I anticipated given typical London hotel rooms but there certainly won't be space for gymnastics. Everything was clean including the bathroom with its large rainfall shower. A very subtle but nice aspect of this hotel was the free goodies in the minibar. Don't get excited, it's just some water, chips (crisps) and candy bar but still very nice to take out on your journies, plus it is refilled each day. The hotel isn't in the middle of the city but a quick train ride away. There are local pubs very nearby as well as a grocery store right across the street to pick up some fresh fruit, etc. We found this useful for grabbing a light breakfast every morning. Overall, great place to stay if you don't want to be in the middle of the city.

Dear Chris H,

We are pleased to hear that you found our staff helpful and friendly and found the hotel a great place to stay.

We are sure you seen our extensive cocktail list and found it difficult what to have, but glad you enjoyed the one you picked!

It's great you enjoyed the room facilities including the free snacks in the mini bar, as well as the location of the hotel.

We hope to see you return in the future.

We stayed one night for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and were overwhelmed by the welcome we received.
We were upgraded to an executive room which was decorated with swans made from towels and with rose petals on the bed and some roses and a card on our table.
We enjoyed the complimentary snacks and wine and had a good nights sleep.
The shower was excellent and the hotel location just 2 minutes from the tube is perfect.
There are plenty of good pubs and restaurants within very easy walking distance.
The staff on the desk were superb.
The only downside was the workmen starting work at 8 a.m next door which meant a well deserved lay-in was ruined !
We would definitely like to come back and maybe get a good nights sleep.
However thanks for the warm welcome !

Room Tip: upgrade to executive !

We were at the hotel for four nights to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely room on the first floor (108) although I am sure I requested a high floor as we usually do to get away from street noise. This was lovely with a bay window looking out over the gardens. Decoration was lovely although a bit too much furniture in the bay window, I would suggest the coffee table and two chairs or the sofa would be sufficient. My husband is a Platnium Points member and this was recognised when we checked in. A welcome letter did mention a few things like a book that would be left during turn down service which was not, and our requested paper was only delivered our first morning although we did get another paper. I am a little bit disappointed having read some of the other reviews that our anniversary was not recognised in the same way which would have made this trip more special. Maybe next time. Airconditioning unit was a bit noisy but you soon got used to it . On the whole we had a fantastic trip and these grumbles did not spoil our stay but thought they were worth mentioning.

I've been there for 5 days in August, mw and my daughter of 12. We have found the hotel really strategically positioned: in a quiet street, in front of a beautiful garden but in the precise middle of everythng: restaurants, markets, cash withdrawl, tube, buses, and so on. The style of the entire hotel is deliciuos and the room really really confortable. The employees very gentle and always available to serve you as soon as. Simply perfect

The hotel is a breeze to get to and from Heathrow Airport, take the Piccadilly tube to Earl's Court, roll the bags to the elevator, at ground level up a ramp to the street, left for a block, cross the street, and down one door, and your there. We were impressed with the professional, personalized, friendly, and efficient service from registration to cleaning, and the restaurant. Truly a boutique hotel, unique decor a treat from the typical hotel room. We were there for our anniversary and when we entered our room we found the room decorated with a heart shaped with rose petals, folded towel swans, a vase of roses, and something you don't encounter everyday a hand written anniversary card. We were touched by that. We were there for six nights and we anxiously looked forward to the breakfast that, without reservation, was the best buffet breakfast we've had in our recent travels. Pancakes, waffles, and french toast, ordered from the menu, decorated with fruits and whipped creme served on warmed black plates dusted with powdered sugar. Each morning the restaurant staff greeted us as though they couldn't wait to see us again.

We wanted stay somewhere close to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea FC and this hotel is an easy 15 minute walk away - ideal. Beautifully converted old London house with murals of London scenes on most of the walls. Room was large and stylishly decorated with a very high bed. Soft drinks and chocolate in the minibar were included in our room rate. Large bathroom which only had a shower (no bath) but it was spacious and good selection of toiletries. Very close to Earl's Court tube station so easy to get into the West End for the theatres etc. or for us back to work. The bar was large, modern and well decorated but despite selling draft beer they only sold it in half pint glasses which was weird. There was an excellent Fullers pub right next door so we went there instead. We didn't have breakfast as it wasn't included in our room rate. It was £15 if bought the night before but there are a selection of cafes nearby as alternatives. Would definitely stay here again.
