“Nice stay!”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

My wife and I stayed there one week. Close to small stores / shopping and coffee shops and the shuttle to Gatwick Airport (if you come from Gatwick Airport).
Not bad area, enjoyed good walks as it is close to almost everything.
Good friendly staff.

Was very average. Stayed for one night with my partner but we both found it to be very out of the way, as we wanted to be in central for most of our trip and mainly chose the hotel for its price (very cheap) Rooms are small but I don’t think one needs masses of space to move around in. The bathroom was clean with a full size bath and the shower was very decent – hot and powerful. Check in and check out where fast and we had a really lovely view of London out of our hotel window which is always a plus.

This is basically a reasonable hotel for the price. However there are a couple of things to watch out for. The car park is offered at an additional charge of £17 per day or part thereof and each time you need to exit with your car you will pay at Reception to validate the ticket. Breakfasts are also an additional charge and not included in the room price.

When I stopped at this hotel it was jam packed and full due to the Ideal Home Exhibition and what looked like several coach loads of European tourists. The lifts or elevators were a disaster with queues of up to 10 minutes just to descend from the 8th floor. I do understand this is a temporary measure while the lifts get a refit otherwise I would have given this hotel a lower rating.

I did not want to pay the additional breakfast charges as there are so many reasonably priced places nearby and did not utilise the restaurant for the same reason. The layout of the hotel is airy and spacious and the restaurant / bar areas are quite well designed. There are parts of the hotel that really could do with a revamp as they are getting a bit outdated but the rooms themselves are very good.

Everything you would expect in a room is there for you. The complimentary tea / coffee facilities and the usual toiletries are all present and the beds are comfortable. The layout of the room is good and basically you have a comfortable place to stay. The standard of cleanliness of the rooms is definately acceptable and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

One area where this hotel excels is the Wi-Fi. With so many people staying at the hotel I thought it would come to a grinding halt but it was always fast and adequate for my needs the entire three day stay.

If you are planning a visit to this hotel then book a room at the rear which is quieter. With all the local parking slots taking pound coins and no credit cards you will need a bag of change at £3.20 an hour parking rates so much better to make use of the hotel car park.

Would I recommend this hotel? I would, but if you hunt around and look at some of the other hotels in Earls Court you can get a better deal and a more personalised environment with an overall more pleasing stop over experience.
