Wonderful stay in a great location. The views from the foor top was amazing. Helpful staff and friendly staff. Large room size especially for centre London. A small hotel good if you prefer service and style to modern large hotel.

London is expensive, very expensive, and it is more expensive even to stay at districts such as Chelsea, South Kensignton or Notting Hill. San Domenico House is not cheap by some European standards, but we have to put it in the perspective of where it is located and the offer you get from other accomodations in London and specially in this area.

San Domenico House is a rather small boutique hotel located in Draycott Place St., a small street parallel to the fantastic shopping street of King's Road, very close to Sloane Square and to Victoria Railway Station (almost walking distance). If you travel to Gatwick Airport, you can use the Gatwick Express train to get there in a reasonable time for a good price.

The hotel itself is located in front of the Spanish Consulate (as a Spaniard myself, that is a relief in case of trouble). But insignificant details apart, the street is usually very calm despite its closeness to King's Road.

The two rooms I've been two (a Junior Suite and a Deluxe Room) are fantastic. Usually London's hotels (including 5 stars hotels) sport very small rooms that are torn by time. Although the hotel and the furniture might look ancient, it is in the good way, ancient in the sense of antique, and well equiped, clean and with big rooms (very big indeed for British standards).

The bathrooms are not really big but are very confortable. Water pressure must improve, but water temperature was perfect, even when the hotel was full.

Beds and pillows are very confortable. I only had king size beds in my two stays, the matress was extraordinary and so were the sheets.

Mostly all expected amenities were available, ranging from complimentary water bottles, all stuff you might need in a bathroom (except for shaving) including hairdryer and showercaps, and so on. Not only it is well equipped, but the quality was very good as well.

It is quite improvable the WiFi reception. Depending on the device you use, you might have some trouble in most areas of the hotel. Good to say is that the WiFi was complimentary, with no added charges.

It has a limited room service throughout the whole day. The last night of our second stay we ordered something to eat and (despite being a bit steep in price) the food was excellent. The food offer is limited though. However the Hotel does not have a restaurant itself, although it does have a dining room for breakfasts, magnificently decorated.

The breakfast is in general quite good. It has no buffet but instead an "a la carte" breakfast. It has some areas to improve, including the lack of a wider offer, but you may have here either a varied English breakfast with good produce or the more classical Continental breakfast.

Last but not least, the personnel were extremely friendly. They are a bit like a family like customer service, but with all the care of a 5 star hotel.

Undoubtfully an alternative to (usually) more expensive 5 stars hotels around the area.

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms are more than enough, since Suites although bigger offer little more. Stay in the upper...

This hotel calls itself a boutique hotel although in reality it could also be described as an up market B & B. The prices are steep but the accommodation and service was 1st rate. Other reviews have suggested it is like a home from home, which is true if you drive Porches and Mercs, as it is very well appointed. Not Bentley or Aston standard but certainly only a couple of notches down.
Couple of niggles: Tea making facilities need to be put in the rooms for that price (£11.00 for 2x tea!), frankly outrageous at the room prices. The bar/room/breakfast tariffs all come without VAT which comes as a shock when you add it to the already high prices. Breakfast was also disappointing. Normally Full English allows one to use the buffet as well for bread, cereals, yoghurts, pastries etc, but none of that here. Everything like that was an extra. Can I strongly recommend that you do not have breakfast here as there are 2 or 3 famous breakfast eateries nearby in Sloane Sq which offer substantially better value for money.
All in all a great place to stay, personal and with great service and we will return but will avoid all of the add-ons!

Only had the one night at the San Domenico House, what a shame it wasn't more.
The room was beautiful, luxurious and spotless. Big bed, very comfortable with soft pillows. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The other big plus is the location just round the corner from Five Fields restaurant ,another great find.
Next time I will be staying longer.

What a find! Thank you to my fellow TA community for your recommendations. San Domenico House is what one wishes one had for a home in London. Just spent two nights at this lovely glorified B&B/luxury hotel.

The location is perfect, a stones throw from Kings Road, over looking Five Fields Restaurant (currently ranked as in the top five restaurants in London) and a 3 minute walk to Sloan Square and Sloan street tune station.

If you are looking for a hotel with all the usual amenities (multiple restaurants, gym, gift shop…etc.) this is not for you. If you've been to London many times and you are sick of the run of the mill hotels and are looking for a home in London then please give this exceptional hotel a try. It's as if you own a luxury flat in London in one of the best parts of the city. The service is wonderful, polite, professional and non obtrusive. The room (I stayed in room 304) was clean, comfortable and luxurious. Yes, there is no tea/coffee maker in the room but there are ample places just around the corner for one to go get ones cup in the morning.

I had breakfast one day and the quality of the fry up was excellent.

I will certainly go back the next time I'm in London and I will certainly recommend this jewel of a hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: Any room most likely will be a good room at this boutique hotel.

We just came back from a 5 days trip to london. This hotel was a great surprise. We had a junior suite. It was big, very nice and clean. Very comfortable big bed. Only small down side is the bar: not many choices for wine and too high prices. They should give more options. Other than that just perfect! We certainly be back!
