You don't book a boutique hotel in Knightsbridge expecting to get budget accommodation, but in this case watch out for the extras. It's a delightful little hotel, and even though we got a free upgrade to a King-size room, we still felt just a little claustrophobic. The rooms are not vast. But then, this is a boutique hotel, isn't it?
It's hard to fault the hotel itself, it's sparkling and immaculately clean and the staff are absolutely superb, like, really superb. But breakfasts are an extra £35 each. There's an abundance of small restaurants and cafés within a two minute walk where a very similar breakfast can be had for a third of that price. If you want a shirt laundered by the hotel it's £9. Around the corner on Brompton Road a laundry will do three shirts for £7.
Having said that, the room itself is full of little free nibbles which are renewed every day, as is the tiny lounge bar downstairs, but then again, what do you expect from a five-star hotel?
Location is first class, but although we couldn't find anything really significant to complain about during our stay, we agreed that we probably wouldn't return. It's hard to say why. Maybe it just didn't feel like value for money.
