“Great place to stay”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

We stayed in The Cavendish for four nights and had made our booking through their Facebook page - with a great offer. The Cavendish is just around the corner of Green Park tube station and only a 5-10 minute walk to Picadilly square. So you're really right in the heart of London, with Buckingham Palace, Regent Street and fun locations like Audi City close by.

The staff was really friendly and always helpful - from reception desk to waiter.

We had a standard room which was ok from the size, however, don't expect a suite-sized room if you book a standard. A bit more room for clothing would have been nice, but that was only a minor point.

To put it all into a nutshell: if we manage to receive the same rate again, we will definitely book the Cavendish again for our next trip to London.

Room Tip: You might want to check their Facebook page for limited discount offers.

Dear Peter K,

It seems like you had a great time in London and got to visit many places. our location is ideal for sight seeing, shopping and theatre land and for sights a bit further out we are well connected to the underground stations.
We try to look after our loyal followers by as you mentioned offering discounts on our Facebook page, you can get 20% off in the restaurant for example if you book through facebook and also keep your eyes open for room discounts.
All in All we are very happy that you enjoyed staying with us and I would like to thank you for writing about your experience on this site.

We stayed one night on 11th May for an anniversary. At the time of booking we were asked if it was a special occasion and we had said yes. When we arrived, our bed was scattered with red petals and there was a bottle of champagne ! The staff were so friendly and polite. The room was beautifully prepared and clean. Our car was parked in the underground car park and brought up when we were ready to leave. They even went to the trouble of putting a bottle of water and tin of peppermints in the car wishing us a pleasant journey. That's what makes a good hotel great.

A wonderful experience, we can't wait to stay there again.

Dear Benty,

Thank you for your wonderful review and I am very pleased that you were looked after so well.
Our concierge team constantly try to come up with new ideas to improve their services and the bottle of water and mints is an initiative which was introduced earlier this year.
We empower our employees to make sure your stay becomes a memorable experience and therefore encourage them to highlight special occassions so we can do a little extra for you, to hear your appreciation makes it worthwhile.

Looking forward welcoming you back in the near future

My Wife and I have just spent our second stay at the Cavendish for a one night theatre trip, I would say to anyone who is planning to visit London they would certainly not be disappointed if they chose the Cavendish Hotel, the whole experience is extremely pleasant, as although there is the ambience of an upmarket Hotel, every single Staff member has a very friendly and welcoming manner without being over the top, the rooms which we have stayed in were very comfortable especially the beds, the breakfast is varied and well presented and all your needs are catered for which makes the stay very relaxing and enjoyable, we will certainly endeavour to stay at the Cavendish in the near future.

The Cavendish was an excellent choice for a 3 day stay in london.
Accomodation was adequate.
The staff cheerful, unobtrusive and helpful.
The breakfast was a pleasant experience helped by the greeting staff and those who waited on table. The choice from both hot and cold buffets were very good.
Making a reservation and checking out were simple and efficient.
The welcoming personal touch, as this was our ruby anniversary, was much appreceated

Stayed Saturday night on a late deal , have stayed 3 or 4 times before . The only availability was for a classic double .We were next to the lift shaft which I felt would be a problem but you could hardly hear them and I am a light sleeper .
The room was very nice , full bathroom with bath not just a shower . Comfortable although my wife felt the bed was too soft .No fridge but not a problem for just one night , Ipod dock and player .
Very nice staff at check in , Fabio the concierge was very helpful .
Breakfast was one of the best we have had in London , good choice , fresh raspberries , strawberries and blue berries . choice of coffee's .Iman our waitress was excellent .
Location is great for shopping , sights , shows etc.My wife hates the underground and the huge benefit of being so central is that you can walk to most major sights.
Parking expensive at £40.00 a night which is alot more than many but it looks like they run the car park as a public car park , we tend to park 15 mins walk away for £10.00 per night .
Will stay again without a doubt .

Dear Simon F,

Thank you for commenting on Fabio and Iman, i will make sure that your comments will be passed on to them.
Also a huge thank you for your continued support in staying with us, as you mentioned we have many things going for us such as location, our staff and our much raved about breakfast.
In our classic rooms we took the fridges out earlier this year and replaced them with shelving to create more storage space for our guests, In the room categories above you will still find the fridge in the room, they are no longer used as minibar as there was an increasing demand for our guests to store their own items. Roomservice can always be called and they are more than happy to bring up any drink you would like.
We hope to see you back soon

We have stayed at the Cavendish twice, in January 2011 and in May 2012. We booked the breaks through our local travel agents and got very good rates for bed and breakfast both times. We stayed for 2 nights on the first visit and 3 on the second.

The hotel is literally just around the corner from Fortnum and Mason. It is by Piccadilly and not far from Covent garden.

The hot and cold buffet breakfasts are delicious, You can also chose other hot items to be cooked from a menu. We had one evening meal when we had an early dinner before going to a show and it was excellent.

The rooms are modern and clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. The prices are reasonable for a hotel of this high standard and the drink prices are what you would expect for a London hotel.

Highly recommended and worth a stay there.

Dear Jane F,

Thank you very much for your great review.
Your feedback is much appreciated and as you mentioned our location is indeed very central to were most people want to be.
Our breakfast is a combination of buffet and a la carte, we believe that this gives our guests more choice and flexibility. Even for dinner there is a choice of 2 different menu's, our Pre Theatre menu which is served between 5.30 and 6.30pm and our a la carte which is served from 5.30 till 10pm, We have been holidng an AA rosette for many years now and that shows our consistency of quality.

We hope you will come back to stay with us again this year.

While the lobby could use some upgrading and the lounge could use a brighter decor, the rooms and this hotel are very comfortable, The location of the hotel is what gives it its 5 stars. In the middle of Mayfair, within walking distance galleries, museums, tourist sites and elegant shopping, it doesn't get any better than this. Fantastic breakfasts just add more pleasure to one's stay.

Dear bosslady000,

Thank you very much for your excellent review. I totally agree about the lobby and we are currently in the process of changing it. The wall paper has been complete and we are just waiting the arrival of the new carpet an furniture for the lobby, and the lobby bar should be complete by early next week.

We are very lucky to have the location we do, and as you say we are in walking distance to so many attractions and we are on all major transport routes so even getting to the ones that are not in walking distance is very easy.

I hope that we can welcome yo back on your next visit to London to see the upgraded lobby area.

Best regards

Neil
