Me and 4 friends went to The Cavendish on Friday 8th March for afternoon tea before going to the theatre and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were very friendly and welcoming the surroundings were lovely and we were shown to our seats which was a huge brown leather sofa, 2 brown leather chairs and 2 other chairs. The waiter asked us which tea we would like and the menu was extensive although we just went for the normal tea and 2 of them had coffee. Then we were supplied with a large 3 tier platter of ham & mustard sandwiches, egg mayonnaise and cheese and pickle. 2 warm scones each with cream and jam plus a lemon tart, almond slice and a chocolate brownie each. There was so much food we couldn't eat it all otherwise we would of been there all day!. We had a brilliant time and I cannot wait to go back again.

Dear Red237,

Thank you for writing about your Afternoon Tea experience at The Cavendish and I am very happy that you enjoyed your time with your friends.
We believe our Afternoon tea represents great value for money and it seems you agree.
For April we have some changes in mind and are planning a overhaul to our offering just to freshen it up a bit.
Hopefully we will see you back then to try.

Yet another stay at this wonderful hotel. We arrived early but Sarah the receptionist could not have been more helpful.
Due to a burst water main in Regent Street, Sarah directed us to the correct bus stop for the British Museum.
Our room was clean and had a good view over London. Breakfast service has changed, have to do your own toast, hotel toasting machines are the bad of my life, the toast is never right. Rest of the breakfast excellent.

Dear John W,

Thank you for your review about your recent visit to The Cavendish.
Its wonderful to hear that Sarah was so helpful in showing you where to go for the British Museum when the water pipe on Regent street burst recently. Sarah is a true asset to The Cavendish.
We have made a minor change to our breakfast as you mentioned and placed the toaster on the buffet. We believe this leads to a better experience for our guests.

We hope to see you back again soon

I had to stay in london the night of the 5 march to attended a early appointment at the us embassy and decided to again stay at the cavendish hotel.

Its always a pleasure to stay here, from the moment you walk into the hotel you are greeted with a smile. I was checked in by sarah and in general chit chat asked was the us embassy far away to which she replied no and then out of the blue she had printed off a map of how to get there and how long it would take fantastic service all as i was checking in.

I was staying in a executive room on floor 11 with fantastic views over london, the room was very clean and comfy a great selection of channels for the tv and a great coffee machine.
The bathroom and shower where great , big and airey, although the bathrobes looked a bit past there sell by date and where off grey.

I did not eat at the hotel however the menus look very tempting and have some great deals on for set menus, next time i stay i will be sure to try one of these.

I had breakfast included in my rate but as i had to leave my room to get to the embassy i had just missed breakfast as it started at 630 and then got back just after it was finished , so i was a bit disappointed as last time the breakfast here was the best i have ever had at any hotel worldwide and i do travel alot for my job.

The check out was smooth and again no hassell.

The cavendish must be one of londons hidden gems and i would say in the top 10 of london hotels. more of a 5 star than 4. The staff can not do enough for you. i would recommend anyone to stay here. its home away from home

Room Tip: its worth paying the supplement and upgrading to a executive room or higher, just for the fantastic...

Dear WorldwideflyerLondon,

Thank you very much for recognising Sarah as going beyond her ways to ensure you had an enjoyable stay with us. She has shown great initiative and wonderful customer service to ensure that you made it to the US embassy without the problem of potentially getting lost.
Even though you did not use breakfast it is very pleasing to hear that last time you though it was the best hotel breakfast you had ever had!
Thanks again for taking time out to write about recent stay with us.

I took my parents to London last weekend to see Singing in the Rain for my Dad's 80th birthday. We stayed at the Cavendish which couldn't have been a better location. Just minutes from theatre land - we cabbed it there and walked back - and right next door to Fortnum & Mason.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout; nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully appointed, with top facilities (particularly impressed with the Bose sound dock) and very comfortable bed. The view from the top floor was also worth a quick visit.
We enjoyed their pre-theatre meal and the hospitality at the bar on our return.
Thank you for an excellent stay which my parents and I thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely stay there again.

Dear Nicola G,

Happy belated 80th Birthday to your dad and thank you for choosing The Cavendish London to celebrate such a milestone!
Its great to hear that you all enjoyed your stay with your family and that you found that you were well looked after by our staff. We do our best to ensure that all our guests are looked after the way she should be. I am pleased that you liked our location and our facilities and that you were impressed with our Bose docking stations. We have recently ordered adaptor cables for the docking stations to be compatible with the iphone 5 as well, should you need one for future bookings then feel free to contact either concierge or front office who will be happy to help, be advised though that a deposit is required for those cables.
Your comments about Pre Theatre and Bar are also much appreciated and we look forward seeing you back soon.

Super hotel in a great location. Very convenient for London sightseeing, shopping and Theatre land. Great levels of service from the staff on reception and the concierge's desk. Underground car park with valet parking is a bonus. Exec Rooms are beautifully appointed with all facilities necessary. Decorated in a modern contemporary style with comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. Restaurant is nice for pre-theatre dinner and buffet style breakfast is great. Lifts can become congested at busy times and in 2013, a hotel of this standing should be including free wifi throughout, rather than making an excessive charge for the service. The days of charging for wifi should be a thing of the past guys! Having said that, although inconvenient, it wouldn't necessarily stop me from staying again. All in all, a big thumbs up!

Dear Emguzo,

Thank you so much for taking out time to write about your experience at the Cavendish.
We are all very happy that you enjoyed your stay in our executive rooms and thought our location was ideal for theatreland, sightseeing and shopping.
We do provide free wifi in our public areas and each member of staff will be more than willing to provide you with the wifi code for these areas. For the rooms we do charge wifi due to the superior speed we provide to many other london hotels.
Again we would like to thank you for staying with us and hope we can welcome you back soon.

This hotel doesn't shout its presence, tucked away on the corner of Jermyn Street and Duke Street it is just a short walk from Piccadilly Circus. When we arrived there were roadworks on Jermyn Street and that entrance was closed, so we went in through the Duke Street side. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout, including restaurant and cleaning staff.
Our room was on the 7th floor, we had booked a superior room which had good views over Westminster but if you really want the views then I would recommend a higher floor.
The room was lovely- huge bed and compact, spotless bathroom.
Food was fantastic- we had a pre-theatre discount lunch on arrival which was so much better than wondering around looking for somewhere, or having to pay a fortune across the road in Fortnums!
Breakfast was excellent, everything you could want at a hotel buffet but there were other dishes to order freshly cooked such as haddock and eggs florentine- neither of which disappointed.
The best thing was the location. A short walk down Regent Street takes you to Horseguards and the Mall, or walk down Piccadilly through Green Park to Knightsbridge.Despite its location in the heart of London the room was very quiet although the hotel was full.
I would certainly stay here again and would stongly recommend for seeing the sights whilst not compromising on peace, quiet and comfort after a busy day. If booking again, however, I would ask for a room on a higher floor to get the most of the views!

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter and with good views but ask for higher than 7th floor

We appreciate all your lovely comments and will ensure that your review gets posted in our staff areas for all to see.
Our location is very popular with our guest and as you mentioned is ideal for investigating the sights, go shopping or visit the theatre. Also our breakfast is by many considered to be one of the best in London, we do a lot of local sourcing to ensure the best quality get served. Besides that we also make our own marmalade.
Again thank you very much and hope to see you back down from Sheffield very soon
