“Good for the price”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Lets be clear - this is a small, slightly shabby hotel with no lift, no public rooms to speak of and no other facilities. I didn't try the breakfast. So why 4/5?

It's a good price for central London, it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the desk staff were very friendly. If you want more than this you will pay considerably more.

Room Tip: There was some noise from the street, maybe back rooms are quieter.

We stayed here one night and absolutely loved it! The man working the front desk was so friendly and willing to help us. Very easy to get Hyde park from the hotel as well as do some shopping on Oxford street. Free breakfast was a bit boring but it was free so can't really complain. Lots of cute places to visit all around the area. It was very posh and staying at the Oxford hotel was well worth our money! I would definitely return.

The staff was always friendly and helpful. It's a very good location near both Lancaster Gate and Paddington underground stations in central London. It's about a block from Hyde park and on a very quite street.

Room Tip: No elevator, so request higher floors for excellent stair workouts!

If all you want is a dorm room and private bath, and you don't mind walking up 5 flights of stairs (including the day you arrive with all of your luggage) and you plan on eating breakfast somewhere else, then this is the place for you!
Another family member ( single and poor) recommended this place. We are a married couple with means and were horrified. It didn't ruin our trip, but it it could have.

We returned to this hotel this month, for the simple reason that the location is unbeatable and the price is acceptable.

The front office and breakfast staff are welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are small - we started out with a double room and when a third person joined us we moved to a considerably larger 4-bed room. Then a couple of weeks later we returned to a slightly smaller 4-bed room.

The rooms are small, the bathrooms are tiny, the breakfast is basic and you will have to walk up and down a lot of stairs. But if you know this before you arrive, and you're happy with the price, then your stay will be a good one. After all... who comes to London in summer to spend their days enjoying the comfort of a hotel room.

This hotel offers the basics - including tea & coffee making facilities and a fridge in your room.

The location is fantastic. An easy walk to Queensway, Bayswater and Lancaster Gate stations - as well as to Paddington - with its rail connections. From the hotel we walked easily to parliament and beyond (admittedly a bit of a hike); it's also just a hop skip and jump to Oxford Street shopping. There are good supermarkets handy (Marks & Spencer and Waitrose), plus good restaurants.

We'll be back.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the street will be quieter at night. If stairs are a problem (including carrying yo...

The worst hotel in London, very poor standard, Dirty carpet, Poor breakfast, Mouldy bathroom.
No lift even for the 3d floor. Not far from the underground and central location these two point are the only positive remarks which I can say and every think else is terrible, horrible and disappointing.I don't advice any body to waste their time and money in this hotel.

Room Tip: None is good

The hotel is very simple. We've selected the hotel based on price and location. Room was small, not the cleanest and not really comfortable. Breakfast is also very simple. Still, i rate this average because of de price (for London hotels...) and it's location. It's near the undergroundstation Lancaster Gate so you travel easy into the city. Neighbourhood around the hotel is also very pleasant.
