Just spent 4 nights at the Caesar on a business trip. I grew up in London, but have lived in the States for many years and visit London almost every month. Former jobs have had me staying in very high end places, but now running my own company forces me to economize. Got a good price from Hotels.com, arrived to see the scaffolding all around and found myself put in a room next to the elevator...my heart sank at the thought of 4 nights in this tiny room.
However, I have to say that I loved my stay. Couldn't hear the elevator (great soundproofing), and truly enjoyed my four nights in Bayswater. This hotel was every bit as good as many top end hotels in London.
There are three things the hotel should address, however. The first is to FIX THE WI-FI. It was out for over a day during my stay, which lost me a lot of working time. Second is that the TV by the bed sucked...tiny...bad image..and no cable. I did have a second TV in the sitting area, but would rather watch in bed. Finally, the one area where the hotel has economized is on the beds themselves. The mattresses are cheap and appear worn out and hard. And the pillows are rubber and uncomfortable. This hotel clearly is trying...but to have poor beds is inexcusable.More
