My family recently stayed here during a vacation to London. When traveling the most important feature is location and this hotel has it. Only a five minute walk from London's Paddington station makes it easy to get anywhere in England. High speed trains run directly from the airport, the rail runs to the outer cities such as Windsor and the tube runs to all major stops in the city.

Having traveled to Europe in the past, I did not have high expectations in terms of room size but I was shocked. We booked a quad room since we were traveling with two children ages 9 and 11. The room was large with a queen bed, a desk, a closet and a balcony. The bathroom was full size with a full size tub. The best part was the upstairs loft which included two twin beds and a nightstand in the middle.

The room was large enough to fit my entire family with no problem. The hotel was clean and offered complementary breakfast (bakes goods, cereal, juice, etc).

The hallways are small and the carpets in the hall are older as the building is older but I most of London is like this. The room was much nicer than the hallway.

Price was reasonable. Overall this hotel is a great value.
I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for the quad room if you have four people.

I Stayed in the hotel during WTM in early Nov knowing room rates would be high. The Royle Eagle was available and even though the rate is high is in a good location for transport and services.
The rate was over £200 for 2 nights with no breakfast. For that price it should have included even continental! Rooms are average, very clean and well maintained but minimal in their facilities. My rooms was split level with a winding stair case to the bedroom. Bathrooms downstairs, not ideal for large luggage or people with mobility issues. A lot of the rooms towards the front of the hotel seem to be like this. The receptionist described it as an 'upgrade'.......hmmm.
Overall the hotel is average, not extra services like room service but clean and well located.

From outside the Hotel doesn't look that bad, but that is all. I was there for two terrible nights! The hotel seems to be from a horror movie: dark hallway, the floor creaking, old and worn carpets, wood noisy doors, not well functioning heating and a labyrinth of stairs everywhere. The staff is ok, trying to help, even if sometimes the english is not good enough to understand the guest. The staff was the only acceptable part of it, they tried to be very helpful about the not working heating and electricity problems. Terrible experience. Don't go there, even if the location is good.

It is a very good location near to Paddington.
Courteous service at reception and we had a spacious room.

Room Tip: ask the reception for a spacious room

The windows are old and don't do a very good job of blocking out street noise. Also, was abruptly woken up at 7 AM by a garbage truck slamming down a large trash collector, 50 feet from my window. The hotel's idea of "air conditioning" is a table top fan. Wireless that I paid for didn't work in my room so I was unable to do any work. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable as well. I left this hotel after one night and found a much better hotel for slightly more money.

The only positive thing this hotel has going for it is its location. It is located in central London, and close to the underground. However I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: If you must stay here, try to find a room that is several floors above street level, and that does n...

The morning shower was cold. When we enquired we were informed that the boiler was not big enough for the number of rooms and we should try again in a couple of hours. The next morning we got up specially early hoping for a hot shower but once again it was tepid at best.

We had been traveling for a month so we each had a bag. We arrived in London at 1pm. There is no parking or lay by near by so we doubleparked and took the bags in. Could they please hold them till our room was ready? The answer an emphatic No. What did they suggest we did? Come back in an hour.

The room was a shoe box and bore no resemblance to the photo on Expedia.
