“Parkcity Hotel is great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2011

The Parkcity Hotel in London is great! Our double room was spacious, continental breakfast was more than plentiful, and the hotel is easily accessible via the London tube and bus systems. Staff members were all very helpful, and other guests were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Booked based on Trip Advisor reviews, TA ranking, and location. Such a high ranking in London was not, in our experience, a false ranking. A few minor quibbles - but my wife and I shall most definitely return here in the future - so what is a few quibbles between friends? And as this was our anniversary weekend and that we stayed at the Mint Hotel at Tower Bridge the night before - and the fact that we shall definitely be returning, surely says a lot?

Liked the welcome, location and quiet street and the initial appearance upon entering
Disliked the small lift - although typical for the style and age of building and the mirrors had clearly been placed to make the space look larger, my wife is unfortunately claustrophobic - and so preferred to use the rather narrow and steep staircase

Very much liked the complementary surprise bottle of red wine, a gift for our anniversary. Also liked the relaxed, comfortable look of the bedroom (3rd floor, front facing) and the fantastically comfortable bed. Other plusses included the Bose radio/CD player, the luxury and generously sized toiletries and fabulously large and heavy dressing gowns - and don't miss the opportunity of Happy Hour in the rather unwelcoming bar - cocktails at £3.50 and bottled beer at £2? In London? You would be seriously foolish not to visit!

Few quibbles - bar and barman, both rather dark, cold and unwelcoming. Possibly a little too much furniture (lovely as it is) in the otherwise lovely bedroom. Not the easiest remote control in the world and 'big step'volume control not ideal when one us us wished to view the Rugby World Cup at 6am whilst whilst the other slept

A few quibbles is never enough to put me off. Quibbles can be resolved - and tend to suggest that there was nothing more serious to be found

Nearly forgot - amazing croissants and good strong coffee. Don't be paying extra for a sausage and egg when you can fill up on a lovely price inclusive continental breakfast

Room Tip: Front of hotel and first floor if you are keen on neither small lifts or narrow steep stairs

I travel extensively & have very high expectations from hotels with regards to cleanliness, facilities, service, food etc. What can I say, the ParkCity lived up to all these & more! My husband and I stayed for 10 days. The hotel is central to two tube stations and numerous buses. The staff are so friendly, even at 2am!! The room was spacious & light. The morning newspaper at your front door each morning, gorgeous bath products, quiet air-conditioning, thick curtains to block out the light, comfortable bed, wi-fi in the bedroom. Breakfast was included & was great. Fresh fruit, croissants, cheese, juice etc. Just one gripe... the coffee in the breakfast room is not great, actually pretty awful, if the hotel could address this issue it would be the perfect breakfast!! All in all an awesome hotel & we will definately be back.

Room Tip: High up in the building is good with a room on the Lexham Gardens side. The road is very quiet &...

Well, it lived up to its rightly deserved, great reviews, on trip! We were in room 308 which was large, very light, having three windows (it over looked the front of the hotel) was in immaculate condition, and SO quiet! We had the windows open and slept like logs in the very comfortable bed, with it's excellent and proper, feather duvet and pillows and it was Saturday night! We walked back from Knightsbridge along the very busy and noisy Cromwell Road, to the hotel which was only a short distance off the Cromwell Road but big enough to make a huge difference to the noises heard, or rather not heard!

The bathroom was a good size, the bath huge and the water piping hot. It took us a while to work the taps for the bath and two showers but we did it in the end but I suspect that was just us being dozy! Good quality toiletries given.

There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, a flat screen tv, beverage tray and large safe in the room.

The reception staff were lovely, very friendly, cheerful and helpful. We dropped off our suitcase very early in the morning then came back to check in much later. This was no problem to do.

Breakfast was first class too! the croissants warm, soft and flaky, just perfect! so too the apricot Danish, the pain au chocolate and the fresh bake bread rolls. We were in a party of 6 so everything got tried. There was fresh fruit, yoghurts, sliced cheeses, ham, fruit juice, toast your own toast, and a selection of cereals to choose from. Tea and coffee were bought to the table for you. The breakfast room is in the basement but very light, due to the back wall being all glass and in warm weather you can sit outside on the patio.

The hotel is ideally located for visiting the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and V&A Museum. A Sainsburys and Waitrose are located right near Gloucster Road tube station which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can walk easily in 20 mins to Knightsbridge and Harrods or in the same time up to Hyde Park etc.

We would go back to the Parkcity without any hesitation, I wish we could have stayed longer!

We booked this hotel because of its location halfway between friends and galleries, and with better parking options than some hotels closer to the congestion zone. This was a good decision: it is quite easy to avoid any parking charges over a three night weekend - ask the staff for details. However, for us, the key advantages of the hotel's location were that it is within walking distance of the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum, as well as all the iconic Knightsbridge and South Kensington shops. If you're not such a good walker, it's a cheap cab ride - or a 74 bus (which also takes you to Oxford Street, close to Marble Arch M&S/Selfridges)! The rooms are big enough for people and luggage - sadly, not always the case in London - well appointed, with comfortable king-size, good quality beds and bedding. We were upgraded and enjoyed our mezzanine bathroom, although it was slightly 'faded' in contrast with the elegant bedroom. The continental breakfast was included in the room rate and far more generous than some so-called 'English breakfasts', with the good range of fruit, cereals, yoghurt, breads, pastries, cold meats and cheeses. We were too busy to try the al fresco 'happy hour' experience, but in the September heatwave, it would have been very tempting - had we been around at the time! We enjoyed our stay more than we expected because the hotel was quiet, in spite of its proximity to the busy A4 and its interior is more contemporary than the exterior and some photographs suggest. We would definitely return if we wanted to be in this area, especially if we could find another excellent 'Lazy Sunday' deal...

I stayed at the ParkCity Hotel for 2 nights earlier in September and was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel has such lovely staff, very welcoming and attentive. I stayed in a suite which was very spacious, clean and modern.
I had an excellent bargain through Otel.com and was quite taken aback at the value for money especially in London. I kept expecting someone to say that the price was incorrect!!

Breakfast is very good, plenty of fresh choices and run efficiently.
Location is great - just off the Cromwell Road and in easy walking distance of 2 tube stations (Glos Road and Earls Court).
Would thoroughly recommend this smaller hotel, no need to pay extortionate prices for the name, this hotel has everything you would expect but with no rip-off prices.
Thoroughly impressed.
