We chose this hotel for its location which is excellent, right across the road from Hyde Park & Lancaster Gate Tube station. Staff were very nice and accommodating to. Continental brekkie was v good, the English not great in our opinion so we didn't bother on our second morning but it didn't spoil our stay. Our room was on the front and it was noisy during early morning, also be warned the lift is very beju, not good if you are a tad clostrophobic. Room very small also, no major issues but would probably try elsewhere next time.

This hotel is in a beautiful section of London. It is directly across the street from the Lancaster Gate entrance to Hyde Park and only steps away from the Lnacaster Gate Tube station. The building itself is the definition of a beautiful old London building; the kind you picture when you think of London. Inside the front door is a beautiful foyer which opens into a welcoming lobby. The staff are extremely friendly and always eager to help. Juliette even helped us by coming outside and helping us flag down a cab.

The room we were in fit 4 of us tightly but comfortably. It was on the 4th floor and had a lovely view out onto the street. As one might expect with an old building, the plumbing left alot to be desired but caused no problems. The room was a bit tired but nothing that you wouldn't expect from an old London building. It was really quite charming.

The continental breakfast that was included was terrific with traditional English pastries, fruit salad and some of the best coffee I've tasted anywhere. A full english breakfast was offered as well if you chose to pay for it.

I would definately recommend this lovely hotel.

This is a very reasonably-priced, vintage hotel near the Lancaster Gate tube station, bus stops and taxi queues. Within walking distance to Paddington Station, Hyde Park and Queensway, it's an excellent home base for visitors and tourists. I stayed for seven nights and found it to be perfectly fine.

The wifi works well throughout the building and the complimentary breakfast is fine, although I'd skip the English country breakfast. Service from all the staff was very good and the entire team had a good attitude.

The building is a historical Victorian structure and it shows it's age in places, but this is all part of the charm and none of these quirks are harmful or inconvenient. The lift is indeed small but any able-bodied person with functioning legs should have no problem with the stairs. Cosmetically, the property and guest rooms could use a facelift, but if you're spending too much time in your room, I'd question why you came to London in the first place.

Choose this hotel if looking for a historical building in a great location. I'd certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: You'll need to open the windows on warmer nights, which increases the traffic noise, which is no...

I didn't stay at the hotel, but wandered upon it during a stroll towards Hyde Park. We went in and had afternoon tea with finger sandwhiches and scones and they were delicious. It is a gorgeous hotel, and I would go back and try it out for accomodations as well, but if you go to London, you must try out their tea dining. Amazing scones!

We enjoyed our stay at London Elizabeth Hotel, dining room/bar staff very friendly, rooms are of a good size and ensuites are perfect. It is situated on a busy street.
Located across Hyde Park, the Lancaster tube station is also nearby.

Room Tip: If you have trouble sleeping, ask a room that isn't on the main street.

We stayed here one night for my daughter's 21st dinner engagement (held elsewhere). We had afternoon tea after a walk in the park, which whilst not Ritz standards, was not Ritz prices either (£19 for two). We were all very full afterwards. Continental Breakfast the next morning (included in the piece) was also more than sufficient to set one up for a full day. The dinner menu did not look particularly exciting (nor expensive) but clearly there is no need to eat there if you want more excitement! The position is fantastic - bang opposite Kensington Gardens and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge and Oxford Street. Lancaster Gate tube is very close and there is a bus stop right outside.

The rooms were fine - everything works - and remarkably quiet (our two rooms were at the rear).
My only complaint is that our "ground floor suite" (we were "upgraded") was almost in the basement, and although had no traffic noise, suffered from rumbling tube trains from about 4 am. I would certainly stay in the hotel again - but only in the Barrie Suite if I had earplugs!

Room Tip: Avoid the Barrie Suite if you are a light sleeper

The London Elizabeth Hotel is just average. The hotel on the outside is very pleasing to the eye. The location is excellent with a bus stop in front and the Lancaster Gate Tube stop across the street. It's in a beautiful building! We stayed in Room 120. They put a King Bed in there for us. It had a beautiful balcony. The bed was comfortable. The ceilings were really high and the room was really large. It had a flat screen TV with plenty of channels. The bathroom was large for a European hotel. Everything worked. There was plenty of hot water for the bath and shower.

The down side of this hotel is the condition of the rooms. They are very run down with needed knob replacements and new wall paper or paint would help. If you are not into a perfect place, then this place is for you. We were there for 9 nights so it was very important for us to have internet access. At times, you could use the internet but more times than not, you would get kicked out while you were on line. I lost my cell phone so communication with home stopped because of their internet access. The staff were always nice but they didn't go overboard to help us with anything. Some of them were better than others. They didn't know how to deal with problems that arised for us. The restaurant inside (The Rose Garden) had pretty good food but one of the dishes, the irish stew, that we ordered had only one piece of meat in it. My husband told the waiter and we were told that the lady who ran the place was trying to cut back on expenses. So the problem wasn't solved. We were not charged for it. It was just tacky. The waiters were very nice. So you will have to decide what is important to you. If you don't have to have the internet or if you don't care about the condition of the room, then this place is for you. I wouldn't stay here again and I can't recommend it to others. This hotel could be so much more!! It's just a pitty!

Thank you for writing to let us know about your recent experiences at the London Elizabeth. We greatly appreciate your feedback and would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few items you raised. First, my most humble apologies for the fiasco over your Irish Stew. This was a complete error on the part of the Chef, one he could have quickly remedied for you but for whatever reason, he chose not to and then added insult to injury by falsely passing the buck onto someone else. This is unacceptable behaviour and internal measures have already been taken to ensure it does not ever happen again in any guise.

May I also reassure you that we do have a through remodeling program under way and have already completed many of the rooms requiring attention. We anticipate finishing our remodel by spring next year and I think you will find the changes to your liking.

I was concerned to read about the difficulties you experienced with your WiFi. I have had the matter looked into and it appears there was a loose cable in the wall that serviced you and 2 other rooms. I apologize that our staff were unable to repair this small matter during your stay. In addition to our bedrooms, WiFi is also available in our boardroom, our restaurant and bar, the terrace, our lobby and all other communal areas of the hotel. Because the main router is located in this general area of the hotel, you could have continued to communicate with your family in one of these areas while you were experiencing difficulties in your room.
