“Lovely stay! Wonderful hotel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

I emailed the hotel with some requests before we arrived. A fridge for medication, a kettle and after reading reviews on here about views, a room at the front of the hotel as we were celebrating and didn't want our stay spoilt by the view. I had a quick response saying all this will be taken care of and we were to be upgraded to a better room. Great!
The hotel couldn't be in a better position in London. On the corner of Bond Street and Conduit Street, central to the heart of the city. When we arrived we were checked in by Phillipe, who was very courteous, helpful and a lovely friendly chap. Then to our room, it was all prepared however there was no kettle and strangely no iron and ironing board even though room details on the website we booked through stated there would be. No problem, a quick call down fixed this. The room was spacious (for London) and the bathroom small but opulent. To our surprise, chocolate cake, fruit and water arrived to mark our celebration. This was delicious, a lovely thought and very much appreciated.
After dinner we return to the hotel, to be honest we automatically expected our room to be turned down. It was not. However, I am sure had we requested this (had we of thought to) before we left it would've been. We had a king bed, however this was two singles zipped together. We found it wasn't too much of a problem (not like some reviewers have stated). The bed wasn't the comfiest, but it wasn't too bad, it certainly wasn't up to 5 star standards though. Wi-Fi in the room is to be paid for, which is always surprising nowadays in five star hotels.
Breakfast was served in the Brasserie Chavot. It was possibly the best breakfast I have tasted. The scrambled eggs divine. The bacon smoked just right. The bread selection delicious. Which is unsurprising as the Brasserie Chavot is fantastic in its own right.
Overall a lovely stay. Great service. Would definitely stay again and recommend both the hotel and the brasserie. We would like to say thanks for the hotel's generosity!

Room Tip: Have breakfast, delicious!

Great bar and reception areas, polite and professional staff. Well appointed rooms. Only issues are corridors/parts of rooms are showing their age and the cost of the WiFi.

Yes, will stay again, location and comfort perfect.

I stayed here on Sat 5 October and it was generally lovely but after having just retuned from 2 weeks at the Carlton in Cannes which is also 5 star I think that this hotel has missed the mark !
The room was fine and we enjoyed the breakfast...and staff were very pleasant.

However my son checked in and £50 was taken from his Card on Saturday...on checkout we were told this would be refunded in about 4 days ! ridiculous. ...why it wasn't refunded immediately the receptionist had no explanation...so my sons. £50 gains interest for the hotel .We were then asked if we lived in the Uk ...Bizarre !
I was unhappy about this and plan to ring the manager tomorrow ! This is unacceptable and will stay elsewhere if no satisfactory response. Shame as nice hotel if rather corporate otherwise.

Room Tip: Avoids 343 as overlooks all the air con pipes...no view at all !

I booked the Westbury as a surprise for my wife's 50th birthday on the 7th of September, I booked rooms for ourselves and our children both of which were lovely and surprisingly spacious for a London Hotel. The level of service that was provided was not short of excellent, from the point I visited the week prior to make some final arrangements to our eventual check out. I would like to say a huge thanks to the Polo Bar Staff and Manager, the restaurant manager on duty for breakfast, the concierge and reception staff. All of these people were amazing making my wife's birthday extra special.

The Westbury is a nice, traditional hotel, immaculate and rooms very comfy. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. we were upgraded upon check in and when we arrived back to the room one evening there was cake in the room. These are all great touches to a short city break.

Absolutely perfect location for shopping and bars - it was within walking distance from everywhere we needed to go. I would definitely recommend.

Location location location! Stayed here for 5 nights and we were not disappointed. The service was superb and our room was comfortable and immaculate. We had breakfast served in our room each morning at no extra cost, and the food was extremely good and lots of it! It's as also nice to sit in the foyer for a while with a cocktail and just watch the world go by. It is an expensive place though-£14 for a cocktail is the most expensive drink I have ever had but a nice treat!

The hotel is situated at the heart of Mayfair and there is a mind-blowing array of stores on the doorstep. It is also only a short walk to Piccadilly Circus and to Oxford and Regent Streets for more of the high street rather than designer stores.

We were out and about from morning til night each day, but it was always nice to know that we were returning to the comfort of The Westbury to rest our weary heads.

We spent 5 nights at this hotel last week, and were extremely disappointed. The problems were:
Wi Fi connection charges of 17 pounds per day'
Obsolete bathroom mounted hair dryer. My wife had to request another unit from the concierge, and it was as bad as the first one.
The shower was nearly impossible to operate, we had to use the tub to take a bath.
The bathroom had only one sink, and it was impossible to fit two people at the same time.
We were in an upgraded room, not in a "regular" room, which makes it even worse.
On the positive side, the Hotel's location is fantastic, near Bond St and close to Picadilly Circus, and the concierge service was superb, finding theater tickets, restaurants and tours for us.
Compared to other hotels that we stayed in Spain and England on this trip, we believe that it should be rated between 3 and 4 stars.
