Excellent location - the hotel is right on the roundabout at Seven Dials, just steps from Covent Garden and Long Acre. Lots of shopping, dining and entertainment right on the doorstep.
The staff are great, always friendly and welcoming.
While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable, and the windows do a good job of insulating from the street noise. Bathrooms are similarly small but well equipped.
The only possible downside was the food and service at breakfast. The service was very slow, and the full English breakfast not really up to much. Thankfully it was included in the rate...
Overall, cannot wait to return!

What a fantastic experience. We were greeted on arrival by very friendly receptionists who were very helpful. We were taken to our room which was modern and very clean. Room service was great and a few small problems, such as, no English teabags, were sorted out within 5 minutes. This hotel is located a couple of hundred yards from Covent Garden and the tube station, therefore easy access to Mayfair, Bond Street, The London Eye and the West End etc.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: 7th Floor has good views over the city.

This hotel is in my opinion has the best location in London! right on the Seven Dials roundabout, you have access and are 5-10 minutes away from all the amazing attractions (Seven Dials is a small but well known road junction in the West End of London in Covent Garden where seven streets converge). The amount of restaurants, pubs and unique retail shopping outlets is impressive. Get out of the hotel and choose any of the seven paths leading out, you'll find a new experience every time.

As for the hotel itself, pros and cons include:

Pros: location, modern decor, free wi-fi (with the deluxe room), very clean, newly renovated, bar opens till late hours, 24/7 room service, relatively large rooms for London standards, friendly staff

Cons: food isn't hat great, a bit expensive, no spa/gym or pool, no smoking rooms

Overall, I'd definitely stay at the hotel next time I'm in London

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for highlighting our incredible location and for taking the time to share your feedback on Trip Advisor!

Yes, we absolutely offer complimentary wireless – we understand how important it is for our guest to be able to access the internet when staying away from home.

I would like to clarify that we do have a gym and can offer spa treatments to be done in the room, however unfortunately we do not have a pool in the hotel.

Next time you are planning on making a trip into London do not hesitate to contact me so that I can make sure that you are well looked after.

Kind Regards,

Family had three nights here and I had one. Located at Covent Garden and in a great spot right on Seven Dials. What that means is plenty of eating options on the doorstep and easy access to West End.

Nicely decorated, kinda hip. Rooms are very nicely finished. Yes the rooms are small, but they mostly are in London. Nicely appointed.

Breakfast was good - it costs 23 pounds if not in your room rate so it would want to be good. Probably not worth the money.

Staff were friendly and reasonably efficient. Key card didn't work once - why does that always happen when you are busting for the loo?

Two issues, one minor one major.

Minor: out of the lifts there is a two step drop to the corridor (at least on our floor there was). Corridors are soft carpet. There is a step sticking out of each door and then the step up at your own door. Dragging your wheeled suitcase and navigating these lifts and corridors is not easy.

My major bugbear was that after checking out it took 10 days for them to release the credit card hold they took on day 1. This was despite an assurance at check out it would be done immediately and then a chasing email 5 days later which I then had to follow up with a call. In fact, remembering this, I have reduced my rating from a 4 to a 3 (would have been 3.5 but that's not available).

Here at the Mercer Street we always love to get our guests feedback as it is essential to the success of the hotel and helps us to know exactly what our guests want.
