Excellent location on the south side of the Thames less than one minute walk to Lambeth Bridge. This means less than 15 minutes walk (with 2 children) to Westminster, Vauxhall or Lambeth North tube stations & the same to the London Eye.
Secure & very accessible car parking available but pricey (£24 for 24 hours = £72 for 3 days stay in our case) given it is the hotel's own car park; this would cause me to look around next time rather than book again without question.
Reception, lounge & dining areas spotless as were the lifts, toilets & bathroom. Although carpeted areas in upper floors & bedroom could have done with a more frequent hoovering.
Family room consisted a double bed & a double sofa-bed & as such the room was very cramped with little space for bags other than leaving on floor & stepping over them. Also wardrobe space extremely limited for a family of four (space for 6 hangers if I recollect correctly). At the same time, if like us you intend to be out all day from just after breakfast to bed-time this was not a deal-breaker.
Very sensible arrangement of separate rooms for toilet & bathroom (BIG plus for me!). Bathroom roomy, clean & superb shower
Excellent breakfast (although if you like tea, make a pot yourself rather than accept the stuff they pour out for you!), very good service & very quick.
Vey helpful & friendly staff who seemed to understand most languages thrown at them.
So overall a very positive experience with only the cost of the car parking & the size of the family room a negative

First off.......overpriced. But hey ho....we booked it and we didn't have to, so we won't complain about that. Will just briefly mention it.

Wonderfully located for all the usual touristy stuff. A very short walk and you are walking along the Thames with Big Ben and the big wheel right there.

Room was OK. The toilet is in a separate room form the shower which was the same at another Novotel we stayed at and reviewed previously. The toilet door wouldn't close properly as the metal strip on the floor was preventing it from closing. A simple thing to fix.
The small shampoo bottle provided in the bathroom was virtually empty. A couple of minor things, but it's all about the service and if you want better reviews, take care of the little things.

We tried the restaurant 'Elements' on the evening of our first night stay. The restaurant portrays an image of quality and satisfaction. Not so. We were unimpressed to the max. For the price we paid - £48 - we expected better than we received.
I ordered a beef Madras. There was nothing Madras about it at all. It should have been spicy hot. It also should have come with a Raita and that was missing. The portion size was small and it was ..............ya know......alright.......but only just.
MY wife had fish, chips and mushy pea puree. The pea part was of miniscule size, she didn't like the fish much so soaked it in lemon juice for more taste and the chips were cheaper than chips chips. I would have thought they would have had a 'proper' chef when charging these prices and describing the dishes on the menu the way they do. Nah.....
My daughter wanted the beef burger which, according to the menu, they proudly make themselves. It sounded really good. Oh, we don't have it but we do a chicken burger. You good people know that when a juicy beef burger is on your mind, a drab chicken burger just won't cut it. So...she ordered a steak which also came with the cheap chips. We asked to alter some of the sides as we had to change dishes and that was not a problem. When the plate arrived, it came without a steak knife. By now, I was seriously regretting my decision to spend pretty much fifty English squiddley diddleys on this offering and was wishing I had gone and bought a Subway sandwich.

Sleep......I believe we all slept OK. Have definitely had better hotel beds than this, but it was alright. Our room was fine.

Breakfast.......well, brekkie here is adequate. Good points and bad points. I liked the fried eggs, beans, toast, jam, tea and coffee.

Bacon.....the bacon is just ok. You know......it's ok. It just passes.

I didn't like.......the undercooked tomatoes and the sausages, None of us liked either of these. Sorry, but Cumberland sausages are simply NOT breakfast sossies.

Overall, I think the breakfast was ok. My daughter disagreed and I had to shell out for her food slightly after going out for the day.

Staff......friendly and polite. This review may sound quite negative but I would probably stay here again. We wouldn't eat at the restaurant , but the location is wonderful, the staff friendly and we thought it was clean enough and we had no major hitches during our stay.

The location is a major plus for this hotel. When visiting London again, I will price check this one against others and may end up here again.

Thank you very much for your kind review following your stay at our hotel, we are very appreciative of your feedback.
I am so pleased to read that our convenient location, on the doorstep to the River Thames and a couple of minutes’ walk away from Lambeth station was perfect for you.
Indeed our car park is a very good value compared to more Central London.
We really look forward to welcoming you back to the Novotel London Waterloo for your next trip in London.

Decent hotel. No close restaurants (besides the pricey one inside the hotel) , so eat well before you come back to your room. Good breakfast. Very accessible to transportation options.

BUT, be careful if internet is important to you. We have stayed at several Novotels in major cities and internet was included, so I did not think to check for it here. The only internet package the hotel offers is 19.95 (POUNDS) per day! This includes movies and etc, but if you don't want the extras, is a waste. The other option is to go through a local provider "Orange" for 9.90 per day, but that is only for 1 device. I have teenagers and we all have our own devices we want to use. And lastly, there are 2 Macs in the lobby for free use....when no one else is using them. 20 min sessions. STANDING UP (not ideal for my bad knees). So, decent hotel IF included wi-fi and close restaurants are NOT important to you. I wish I had made a better choice.

We were traveling with a 6-years old, and with tired little legs in mind, we decided that as long as we stayed near a tube or bus, it didn't matter where our hotel was... The location itself didn't have much to offer. But it was only a few minutes walk to Waterloo station were several tubes and buses passed. The rooms vere nice and "non-English", and our girl loved the bath room "window"... There were several restaurants and grocery stores in "the Cut" - a street nearby. We loved the pool witht the fish tank and under water music.

This hotel is located a few meters walking distance from Big Ben, Parliament, London Eye. There is a bus stop which brings you to London city center as well as the stop for the Big Tour sightseeing tour. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is very busy between 8 and 10am, however they serve until 11am which is appreciated. Quality of sleep was perfect. We had a very quite room.

We stayed here with our young 3yr old daughter just after Easter. It is a great choice for familys. The rooms are clean and a fairly good size. From our room we could see the trains, but luckily not hear them. The breakfast (which was included in our room rate) was excellent with a great amount of choice. For us the greatest feature was a small play room (with Cbeebies on TV) right next to the bar. This gave mum and dad the chance to unwind after a hard day's sightseeing and our little one a chance to play before bed.

Only downside is there is no tube service nearby. However, there is the No. 3 bus which stops right outside the hotel and takes you over to Westminister and also plenty of buses up to Waterloo and the Southbank. Would definitely stay here again - welcome change from our normal Premier Inn booking.
