(see pictures) and was cleaned throughly every day
breakfast was excellant and plenty full. The staff were very freindly and accomodating to our needs. I would not hesitate reccomending this place. The location is an excellant base to sight see london and in only a short distance to the tube.
Thank you Boston Manor for making our stay very special.

Very poor standard of room would be the way I would describe my very short stay at this hotel.
I checked in mid evening and was shown to a single room which was accessed from the main street in front of the hotel. The hallways inner door had glass missing and felt windy and cold. There was also an unpleasant odour possibly from the restaurant in the hotel which serves Nepalese cusine.
The room itself was tired, felt dirty and in need of a deep clean. The small shower room had a broken toilet hinge on the seat and what looked like mould on parts of the ceiling. To be fair the sink and shower tray did look clean.
The room furniture including chair did not look inviting to use and when I pulled back the covers on the bed I saw stains on the bed linen, no doubt they had been washed but not at all inviting !
I cant say anything negative about the rest of the hotel as I immediately left and booked myself in to the new Travelodge in Hounslow a couple of miles away. This was about the same cost per night as Boston Manor but was far superior in every regard and one I would recommend to others.....its brand new for starters!
I appreciate Boston Manor is an older hotel and I suspect is several old houses converted to rooms to form the hotel but its general appearance is faded and of poor standard.
I dont believe anything the owners might have offered to correct things would of encouraged me to stay any longer than the couple of hours I was there.
Given lots of other similar priced hotels in the area I would not choose this hotel ever again.

I am sorry that you were disappointed in your first impression of Boston Manor Hotel.
The room we gave you was the only one still free on that evening (we’re enjoying 95% occupancy at present), and it would not have been practical to take you there via the more sheltered back entrance, as this would have been a long and indirect route.
We acknowledge that the front entrance was cold and windy that night, but we have no record of a missing pane of glass in the door to the hallway; maybe it just felt that way.
As for the unpleasant odours, our reception area is close to the restaurant, so there will be times when you are bound to smell the cooking, though many have commented that it smells very appetizing, as a good restaurant ought to.
We admit that some of our bedroom furniture and washroom fitments are ageing. In fact, that section of the building is in the process of being refurbished, as I write. But it is unlikely that you saw mould on the ceiling, when daily cleaning is carried out in all parts of the accommodation.
Finally, if you were to try the ‘other similar priced hotels in the area’ that you mention, we are confident that you would not find the same levels of amenity and service as our many regular customers enjoy at Boston Manor Hotel.

Something I'll soon not forget is the gracious portions given for breakfast. Plenty of sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, toast, jams, tea, butter, cereal, milk, and juice. Being a young traveler this was greatly appreciated. The room was spotless and was kept that way for the duration of my time at the Boston Manor. The location is also ideal being only a short walk from the Piccadilly Line which offers access to all the main sights in London.I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay.

Cheers

Comfortable and affordable' - that's the kind of compliment we like to hear. It fits our profile perfectly, and we strive to be the best at that level in the league. Cleanliness is all part of it, of course. And we're glad you mentioned our breakfasts, an important speciality of the house, and a nice way to send guests home happy. We're often told that we score over London's other budget hotels, with this popular bonus.

This is probably the smelliest and dirtiest hotel in the world, I have been in a few run down hotels but they have been clean so you can deal with it, this is a run down hotel which has the poorest cleaning standards I have seen, (see pics) it's an absolute disgrace, just walking in the place and breathing in the air you feel as though you want to run a mile, it's quite clear the owners have no standards and are in it for the money and don't want to spend a penny on maintaining and giving the place a normal regular clean as normal hotels would, there was dirty marks all over the floor, walls and ceilings including a few squashed flies, the shower tray was black and filthy like it hadn't been cleaned for years, i really honsetly dont think the carpet had seen a hoover ever it looked that scruffy, the mattresse was hard and the pillows even more so, even if you have no were to go don't bother staying here your better off in your van!

Your review and accompanying pictures have been noted by our management. It is difficult to know what to make of such strongly negative reports, which are not confirmed by any feedback received from our many other guests through the year. (You may like to know that we are enjoying 90% occupancy, a testimonial in itself.) We also find it strange that you did not mention these major grievances to our front-desk at the time.

In particular, the bathroom images are not immediately recognisable as our own, and we wondered whether you might have got them confused with pictures from some other hotel. Since you don't give us your name or date of stay, there is no way of judging the validity of your complaints, and it is not unknown for us to receive malicious reports that have no substance.
Certainly we can declare that our bathroom fitments are never allowed to appear in that state, and infestation by insects has simply never happened. As for your complaint of unpleasant odours in the public areas, we would expect this to have been reported by at least one or two other guests, but it never was.

We do acknowledge that vacuuming the carpets can be an awkward job in the smaller bedrooms, and that some corners may be left for a day or two, without noticeable impact on customer satisfaction. We also acknowledge the ageing furnishings in the rooms; these are being upgraded as the budget allows. We are investing in an active refurbishment programme, both in the rooms and in the public areas, and we really must reject the suggestion that we skimp on service in order to save money. Boston Manor Hotel can rightly claim to offer the best value hotel facility within reach of central London.

If you did not enjoy your stay, then we can only apologise. But your review does not seem to us to highlight any specific shortcomings in the service that would need remedying in the short term.

Sounds like you had a great London visit, and I'm glad we were able to be part of it. Yes, we often remind people that Wembley is within easy reach, and sports fans like yourselves need this kind of accommodation, basic but clean, and of course very competitively priced. Sorry about the bath-plug - we're taking steps to ensure that our guests won't have the problem another time.

Thank you for your kind comments. A four-night stay is long enough to judge a hotel in some detail, and it is satisfying for our staff to know that they passed the test. Spacious free parking is indeed a rarity, so close to the city-centre, and adds significant value to the deal. With regard to your tight squeeze in the room and firm bedding, you'll appreciate that each room is individual, and delivers different advantages and limitations. We acknowledge that some of the rooms are in need of upgrading, and our refurbishment programme is in active progress. Finally, we note with pleasure your favourable report on our restaurant, rated by others too as being well above the standard fare on offer in hotels of comparable price.

Thank you for your kind comments about your 2-day family break at Boston Manor Hotel. Many of our other guests have also remarked on the convenient access to central London by tube. And we do make a high priority of training our staff to be friendly and helpful. I'm especially glad you noticed that our restaurant smelt good - that's an instant sign of a well-run establishment. A pity you didn't get a chance to try the cuisine itself. But maybe next time!
