Description: If you don't believe in fairytales, perhaps a visit to The White Swan will change your mind. Tom and Ed Martin, the brothers who run the Swan's umbrella company ETM Group, have applied their magic to transform the former Mucky Duck into a charismatic gastropub. The groundfloor houses a beautifully restored pub packed with traditional features and serving classic pub favourites. Above this is a mezzanine area perfect for after work drinks or a casual drinks party. The first floor dining room meanwhile is an oak-floored, mirrored ceiling restaurant serving tasty British food from the best suppliers and carefully selected produce. The wine menu has been carefully selected from the world's finest vineyards but you are never too far away from a real Ale from the downstairs pub.

“Very good food but slightly overpriced drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

We had a lovely meal upstairs in the restaurant - could not fault the food or the service which was excellent. I was slightly put out by the price of drinks though - felt I was being ripped off slightly which is a shame as everything else was so nice.

“Cosy Spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

A great spot for couples in the City. Upstairs dining room and smart pub below. We arrived early and had a drink on the bar downstairs. I enjoyed a pint of well kept Doom Bar before going upstairs for dinner. The menu was short but welll chosen with 5-6 options for each couse and a couple of specials. I was slightly disappointed that the main special was sold out given we had a 7pm reservation, but enjoyed my choices. My wife who is vegetarian was reasonably well catered for with two starter options, there was only one main choice. Being shrove Tuesday the dessert special was pancakes, with a caramel/orange sauce, which were excellent. The wine list was good and we had a very nice NZ pinot noir. Service was friendly and efficient but not rushed.

“Delicious appetizers but meal was so-so”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

The food quality is mixed here. We had the ciabatta with caramelized onions and cheese as well as depp-fried brie for appetizers and both were delicious! Our son had their classic burger which he said was good. My husband's roast lamb was bland and my roast pig belly, which was supposed to have crispy skin did not and was average at best. We could possibly go back there to eat, but will probably order burgers next time.

“Horrible service and bland food - to be avoided”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

This little pub looked very inviting from the outside and is very pretty inside but beware. The bar staff is extremely unfriendly and it feels like you are doing them a favour by being there.
I had the Rib Eye Pie, the meat was tender but the mash and vegetable was horrible and tasteless.
The restaurant area is also very hot inside.
Beware and avoid.
