This pub is a regular for us, occasionally booking but often just trying our luck to get a table. The staff work really hard to accommodate patrons either having a quick drink or settling in for a session. The food is excellent pub fair, a good variety of dishes, generous portions and without the chain-store pub taste. You will be hard pushed to find better pub-grub!
The drinks menu is vast and varied, with fun new gins and plenty of other options. Of course it’s pretty noisy being a timber floored open space but it has a warm atmosphere with timber kitchen chairs and fresh flowers. Upstairs has a space available for larger groups.
We love how the bill comes in a book, a really quirky touch!

Having lived in London for over 20 years it’s been difficult to find a pub that has great food, great atmosphere and great service. Couldn’t recommend this place more whether you’re a local or a tourist wanting a real English pub. Thank you to the whole team but especially to the team tonight who bent over backwards to make it a great night for us and everyone else: Demi, Nadine and Amber... buy them a drink!

This used to be a place a former colleague and I would usually go to have a down time lunch. They do great lunchtime menus that start at £6.50 for a range of three wraps with salad and awesome fries upwards for small dishes and full on meals. I stepped in today after 5 years since my mate and I last had lunch together here to find it as good as it was then. It's a Bistro pub, not fine dining. It's good, attentive service. It's unassuming interior design...simple, welcoming and un-pretentious. Good menu to choose from and affordable.

For anyone with hearing loss dining here, the interior is bare wooden floors, little soft furnishings - so we both found it hard to hear each other when it got busy. There was no music playing and I thought that was great. All diners around us were fully engrossed in food and conversation and that is what eating out is all about, so it remains a place I will come back to if in the area.

The staff on today were friendly, discreet and efficient.

wanting some local fare, we found this place across the street from our hotel. Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, a Scotch Egg, and some lovely cask ales. Great staff and delish fish & chips. Recommended.

As an actual Englishman of some years I must have had 2000 fish and chips. This was the best fish I can remember having ever eaten and the chips were excellent too. The peas were almost enough for a mouse but really this was a cracking meal with a great pint of real ale and convivial atmosphere. Come here!
