Visited with my wife on a cold and very wet day in March 2013. There is a great selection of shops and the well known brands have very large stores. there is the usual selection of stores you'd expect to find on the high street.

On a very wet day it is not such a nice experience moving between the shops; you have to dodge large puddles on uneven pavements, wait for traffic to be able to cross roads; and you get bumped into when moving around with the masses on the pavement (something that would be worse if it wasn't raining). There is currently a fair amount of building work going on too.

It you love shopping for the latest designer fashions and enjoy the experience of shopping in a very busy area then you'll probably love it. Although there is a lot of choice we'd prefer an indoor all-enclosed shopping centre such as Bluewater.

Oxford Street is the place to be if you're big into shopping. Plenty of stores to visit, with a few good places to stop and grab a bite to eat. The old buildings have been maintained and restored really well, truly a beautiful site. As with most place in London, Oxford Street can get really crowded, especially late at night and on weekends.

What a shame that what could be such a draw is turning into a long, boring thoroughfare. Doesn't live up to it's reputation at all.

This is the place to go if you like shopping. Nothing too special beyond the stores, but if you go from Oxford Street Station and head west, you'll see a lot of Oxford Street and eventually hit Hyde Park.

If you come from a small town, then it'll be a cool shopping experience. Otherwise you'll just see the usual brands you see in most big city's main streets (H&M, Top Shop, etc...). Primark is worth the visit though, if you don't live in GB. Lots of good clothes at amazingly low prices.
