One of the world class activities you can enjoy in London is taking in a theatre performance in the West End district. Here there is a wide variety of shows held each evening in the historic theatre houses scattered around and between Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus. This is just a great location to catch a show.

As for theatre-going, Only Broadway in NYC rivals the West End, which now sees almost 15 million theatre-goers on an annual basis. There is fairly regular show turn-over at many of the theatre houses, meaning there is always something new showing in the West End. Or you can catch one of the long standing like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Mousetrap or Lion King if you prefer.

There are numerous websites where you can find out about ongoing and upcoming shows, many provide booking services as well. You can also purchase discounted tickets at the TKTS - Leicester Square for shows on the day.

Hint: There are lots of places around the West End to have dinner, a coffee or drink before or after performances. This helps make for a nice night out in London.

My advice is - DON'T MISS IT. My wife and I have been going to ballet at Covent Garden, the Coliseum and elsewhere for fifty years odd and we can truthfully say this was one of the best, possibly the best, experience ever.
As we left we heard someone say "wonderful". That about sums it up.
This is classical dancing but is different and, it seems, modern. Great cast, fine changing scenery (somewhat unusual nowadays) and of course the super orchestra. The music is rousing and exciting.
We sat in the balcony which is fine for watching ballet (if you are not too tall - I sit in the very back row which has a little more space) and the sound is great. The seat prices for the back of the balcony were (wait for it) £14 each! There was plenty of room in the balcony so you should easily get in somewhere and possibly in the stalls or elsewhere. (Nor sure about that.)
At the time of writing this, I don't know how many performances are left but I'm going to check and will probably go again, if possible.
The ballet runs for about two and a half hours with two 20 minute intervals.
Remember, at the Coliseum you can get a free cast list, if you ask, should you not wish to buy a programme.
I'll end this as I started. If you can go, don't miss it! A wonderful evening for less cost than a cheap meal.

The best ballet company in Uk today; the English National Ballet is performing "Le Corsaire" at the London Coliseum. It is a thrilling ballet about Conrad, a dashing pirate, and his love for Medora, a beautiful harem girl. It is a swashbuckling drama of captive maidens, rich sultans, kidnap and rescue, disguise and conspiracy, love and betrayal, culminating in a shipwreck which is one of the most breathtaking spectacles in ballet.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see this exciting ballet!

We bought seats for £39 and sat in the Balcony row A and the view was spectacular. The show was so good, great music and wonderful costumes and set. They got a standing ovation the night we went. Worth booking in advance and then you get to decide where you will sit and how much you spend, I bought the tickets 5 months before.

The prince of whales theater. This is a play written by the boys who brought you South Park. I have not laughed this hard in a long time!!! Beware this is for those with a great sense of humor and one that can make light of comedy. It slightly crosses lines that some would be offended, for that I am sorry. It is a must see the discount ticket places don't always have tickets and it has been sold out for the year, don't fret. Go straight to the theater and you could get lucky. I bough the tickets the night of the show and they e
We're great seats. Have fun!!!
