“Family with Teens/Tweens July 2013”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The staff were very welcoming. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for 2 adults & 2 girls 15 & 11yrs to sleep in, plus store 4 suitcases. The girls had their own separate beds which they were happy about, the youngest slept in a trundle bed, which she just fitted in - wouldn't want to be too much taller. The buffet breakfasts were great, and we dined in the restaurant a couple of times. The girls said they had the best fish and chips ever! The only downfall was the mattresses which were too firm - designed for people who sleep on their back.

Very impressed. The hotel was modern and felt like a more up-market hotel. The family room was huge, clean and modern although the 2nd child's bed uncomfortable. Breakfast v good value.Staff v helpful

Spacious room, nice bathroom, good aircon and fantastic location (5 mins walk from Earl's Court tube station). The breakfast spread is quite good.
My only issue was the quality of the WiFi. It did not work properly on Day1 although I took the 24 hrs package.
The property is a row of houses converted into a hotel so be prepared to walk up and down narrow staircases. It could be a bit of a pain if you have heavy luggage.

Overall, good value for money.

Room Tip: Choose the ground floor as there are no lifts

We recently came to stay in your hotel in Kensington for two nights as a birthday treat for myself and my partner. We chose your hotel as it seemed to be fairly close to the museums which we wanted to visit during our stay. We are frequent users of Premier Inn hotels but unfortunately on this occasion we were left disappointed. We had high hopes for this hotel as we are always please with others we have stayed in and due to the way it is presented on the website, however unfortunately we discovered that it did not meet our expectations as detailed below.

When we arrived and checked into our room (214) , on closer inspection we discovered that the bath wasn't particularly clean. We put this to one side as the cleanliness of the rest of the room was good. The door to the bathroom also squeaked quite loudly and was quite difficult to close, also the shower was not up to the standard of other hotels we have stayed in in the past.
Our first night in the hotel was very noisy, there was a lot of coming and going, and banging of doors, noisy floorboards etc.
The corridor and the stairs was very dusty and wasn't hoovered during our stay.
When we had breakfast, the first day was OK however the second day (on which we went down earlier) the standard of the food wasn't very good, ( scrambled egg and baked beans had a skin on the top and looked like they had been sitting out for a while, also the fruit salad didn't look fresh.)
On one occasion our key cards wouldn't work and give us access to either the lift or the staircase.
We decided to dine in your restaurant on our first evening as we viewed the menu in our room and thought it looked OK. During the meal there were only a couple of members of staff, one of which was a trainee, who was serving us. She was friendly and polite but it seemed that she was struggling, as she forgot our drinks order so had to come back and check, also when we asked for condiments they never arrived.
The menu on our room had different prices to the menu in the restaurant, and we discovered that the prices were now more expensive! Also the meal deal offer that you have ( 2 courses for £12.95) was confusing, as we interpreted it to mean that we could have 2 main courses for this price, we said this to staff at the time who agreed that it could be interpreted that way but that was not the offer that was available.
We were on the second floor and the view from the room was not great. We overlooked a small courtyard which had building work going on so was noisy during the day. The curtains were also very thin.

At the time we decided not to complain to staff as we thought that as we were only there for two nights that we could put up with it, however we decided that we would contact you directly afterwards with our complaints.

We would like to continue using Premier Inn in the future as we have never experience any problems at any other hotel but due to this occasion we have lost faith in Premier Inn and your 'Good Night Guarantee'.

We spent a lot of money staying at this hotel and we feel that we did not get what we paid for. Therefore this makes us wary of booking with Premier Inn in the future, as we have now lost confidence in the brand.

Another great stay in a Premier Inn. We stayed a few months ago at the Titanic Quarter Belfast and so when researching hotels in London l immediately looked at the Premier Inns first. After reading previous reviews l would agree completely. VERY handy on the Tube esp from Victoria, where the Gatwick Express came in. Just a few a few stops down the line. Arrived early but our room was ready. Room was fairly small for two but we expected that and the bed was comfy and room clean. The receptionist Liana was very welcoming and informative. Pre booked breakfasts and as usual they were great value and not at all busy between 7-8am. McD, Greggs, Co Op, Sainsburys, few wee pubs all in the street from the tube to the hotel.. handy! Walked into the centre one morning before it got really hot and it was a nice walk through Knightsbridge etc right down to Hyde Park. Will def stay here again!

Stayed from the Sunday of Wimbledon final for 2 nights. Excellent hotel and well placed for sightseeing etc. We went to Wimbledon and O2 Arena. Hotel clean and breakfast good. No noise at back of hotel so good night's sleep. Special mention to Herman and Michelle who both went out of their way to be helpful. Would definately stay again.
