“not impressed”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, first impression was reception and booking in went smooth. Then things went a little upside down!! We stayed on the 4th floor which I have to say is in need of more than a lick of paint! There was big holes in the wall and the doors of the rooms looked like they had been there donkeys years with big chips in the wood! The carpet smelt very musty!! Then we got into our room.... uuuggghhh there was big water marks, and cup marks on the dressing table, 3 big holes in the wall where we think the tv used to be. The bed was like a board and we had to ring to ask for more pillows as there was no spare in the room. The bathroom is really tiny. After a very uncomfortable night we went down for breakfast which had everything for a heart attack breakfast.. Ie bacon eggs beans eggs etc, there was a liitle tinned fruit, no yoghurts, or fresh fruit. no choice of bread, only white available. We did ask if we could be upgraded, and was told that every room in the hotel is exactly the same!! Although it was handy for the underground we will not be rushing back here, there are plenty more hotels that are just as convienent for the underground and priced the same that are much nicer. So traveller beware!!

Room Tip: stay at your own peril !!!

Stayed here on a two night break. OK it is not a modern "all extras" hotel, but it is clean (very clean), tidy, warm and when we were there, very welcoming. The room was a good size, quiet and warm - after all you are not living there only sleeping. It is in a great location for everything including theatres and Kings Cross Station. Breakfast can be a little chaotic, but it was tasty and hot. If you are looking for somewhere clean, tidy and handy for everything, stay here. If you want all mod-cons, find somewhere else, but, you will be hard pressed to find better value in London.

The location is great. I stayed for 7 nights in October. The room is basic, clean. Continental breakfast included with option to upgrade to full English breakfast. Tube station, lots of restaurant choices, grocery stores near. Helpful staff. Remember to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, facecloth. I asked for a room away from the elevators and that happened. Thanks!

was staying in London for three separate trips, so wanted something close, relatively in expensive, but still with good facilities. the only thing that The President has a good location. it is easy to get to , but other than that! the experience we had is not good.
having stayed a total of three separate time frames, I had to complete the same registration every time and each time they wanted different information. The rooms are so tiny, there is nowhere to open two suitcases. The toilet never flushed correctly, and continued to block up. I will definitely be finding somewhere else to stay on my next vibist to London.

We stayed for 7 nights. Perfect location, Russell Square tube station just behind the corner, Tesco Express 24/7 just across the street, shopping mall with a bigger supermarket 3 minutes on foot. Rooms are very basic and small, on the other hand clean, everyday cleaned, towels changed. Nights are pretty noisy (especially neighbors). What we really did not appreciate was the continental breakfast - just toasts, butter, marmelade, and muesli with milk, coffee or tea, nothing else. After 2 days, we gave up and went eating out. Typical English breakfast was also served, but you had to pay £5 each every day. All in all, great location, pleasant staff, average 3-star hotel.

We stayed here for four nights in September.
The President was recommended by parents and aunt/uncle who have stayed here before.
Hotel is located near to Russell Square tube station which is on the Piccadilly line.
The hotel is ideally placed for everything in central London.
If you want a 5* luxury hotel, this isn't for you..... If you want a spotlessly clean hotel, in a central location with friendly staff then look no further.
The breakfast was buffet style, plentiful and busy therefore the food was regularly topped up and fresh.
No complaints whatsoever, in fact we would always stay here now..... ideal location and clean.
