Great location - walking distance to Covent Garden, 1 min walk to the tube station, nice restaurants within a few minutes walk, safe area.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
My room on the 7th floor was an ok size, clean and had a nice view overlooking a park. Leaning against (or rather out of) the window I had a glimpse of the London Eye. On the minus side, the mattress was rather firm (too firm some would claim), and there was some noise from the hallway from people talking and slamming their doors. Not a big problem though.
If you want luxury, look elsewhere. I think it was good value for money.

We often stay here because of the convenience - it's next to Russell Rd Tube and next to a Tesco for quick purchases, and as someone else points out a super pub. Yes, it is a little old fashioned, and you don't get served a pot of tea at breakfast any more ( the cups you get from the urn can be somewhat stewed) and there is no hairdrier, but overall it is very good value.

Someone says your breakfast is cold after collecting it and walking to your table - well they must be extremely slow walkers - it's a fine breakfast, though it's a big hotel and it gets busy.

Very helpful staff, obliging if you want to leave cases on departure day ( just £1 for the lot).

In short very good value.

Hotel located near Russel Square, also closed 2 minutes walking to Russel Square tube station. Room size isn't big, but it can accommodate 2 persons in a room.
WIFI is not so good, very busy...
Breakfast : A very simple continental breakfast, in case you go down to eat late, there will be a long queue....
out side hotel there are some bars, pubs etc.
After all, we got good value for the money it costed us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with street view in case possible

We have visited London for weekend breaks over the past two years and stayed in the President Hotel. Very happy with location, breakfast, local restaurants ans bars. Russell Square park and park beside Great Ormond Street provide lots of green area. No issue with noise- stayed on upper floors. After three stays here, we recommend this location frequently to our friends for London visits

Room Tip: We usually ask for upper floors for view and no noise

The President is a big somewhat dated hotel but it is clean, well run and friendly. It also represents excellent value in this part of London, traditionally the most expensive. The decor and furnishings are old fashioned but very clean, the small bathroom, again everything you need including free soap, a swiftly vanishing freebee. With the price of the room including one of the best full English breakfasts in London it's brilliant value. With so many of the capitol's sights within walking distance of the president it's a great base for a holiday or short break.

Room Tip: The 6th floor is very quite.
