one of the best places I have ever been, always wanted to go here. went before summer holidays and it wasn't busy at all. the weather was hot and so nice to just sit there with my feet in the fountain. a most for every one. forget the places that cost you loads to get in and let you down. the best things in life are defo free

be sure to check that there isn't any event at the place, otherwise you may not get a great view of it. return on the second day for it was used as some ceremony site the previous day.
will return to take picture with the 'lion' - a really high and tough job to do so ><

History and the crowd scene. Children climbing on the lions, people doing self portraits with Nelson in the background. A constant stream of buses, taxis , people up and down into the tube and buskers everywhere. Cool!

Spent the afternoon sightseeing with my daughter and good-lady.... first stop was Trafalgar Square which was barriered off due to a videoed operatic show . I took some photos of nelsons column .
The weather was brilliant and the tourists,/ crowds were all out lapping up the weather and the iconic London vibe ..

If I were to compare this to anything, I would compare it to St. Mark's Square in Venice, except not so historic or charming. We were there on a beautiful day in June, so the people were almost shoulder-to-shoulder. That's not really my scene. But I would say stroll by if you happen to be in the area. The space would be quite interesting if it weren't so crowded.
