My previous stay dated from 2006, so was wondering how the hotel evolved over the last 5 years.
I have to say the positives and negatives remain mostly the same; with some changes:
rooms are really too small for what you pay and this time I stayed at a City View room: don't go for that option: too much noise from traffic
Dinner, the Heston B. restaurant is something you need to experience once in your life but don't want to experience a second time. Food isn't as impressive as the description but still excellent; the wine list (prices) are a joke.
Bar Boulud is TOP. lunch or dinner, just go for it; this is a clear improvement and asset.
the MO Bar has lost its appeal; last time it was a favourite hang-out attracting a lot of cool people from outside of the hotel; this time it was pretty quiet, mostly hotel folks leaving early. Drinks though are as they should be.
the Spa once again confirmed as a top Spa. by far top-3 of the London hotel spa's.
Location of the hotel of course remains excellent, and also the staff is still top notch.
I can only repeat myself: it's a good and safe choice, all the more when you can have one of their seasonal offers.
The Connaught remains my favourite, outclassing the MO in every aspect. The different Soho House hotels still offer the best value...My previous stay dated from 2006, so was wondering how the hotel evolved over the last 5 years.
