What a lovely hotel! The location is perfect for walking to the British Museum, theaters and shops and restaurants. Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable.

Room 310 was filled with light, had windows that opened and although one set of windows looked across to another building, the other set were framed by trees. Both the room and bathroom were warm and inviting. The bed was extremely comfortable with crisp linens. The closet had removable hangers - whoopee!

The bathroom had a walk in shower with lots of hot water and sensible shower heads. Towels were large and fluffy and facecloths were provided (not often the case in UK).

The room had a pleasant entryway and a nice sitting area by the window. There was a mini bar (expensive of course). Bottled water was provided daily (no charge). There was a 110V outlet on the good sized desk. No free wifi.

The restaurant was very busy and a reservation is a good idea. I ate lunch and dinner here one time and both were excellent with outstanding service. There is a lovely sitting room (with honor bar) on the first floor but because I had a bit of a cold I decided not to expose others to my germs by using it.

Yes, it's expensive but worth it!

It was our 1st trip to London, so we had a lot to do! The location of this hotel allowed us to walk to everywhere we needed to go. And when we were tired, we just took the tube, with Leicester Square and Covent Garden as stops that are equidistant to the hotel. We had a jr suite, which was the cleanest, neatest room we have ever had. The shower was fabulous! The restaurant and bar were perfectly busy and we enjoyed both food and drinks there. The concierge did a terrific job with restaurant recommendations. We loved returning "home" every afternoon and evening- what a treat. Would definitely stay here again. Great choice.

This was our 6th and 7th stay at this beautiful hotel. We stayed for 5 nights at the beginning of May and then again for 3 nights at the end of May both times in a Deluxe Room.

When we arrived for our first stay it was very obvious that there was work going on to the building from all the scaffolding that was covering the front and going up to the roof. The building is over 100 years old so the grand old lady needed a touch up. This however did not detract from the beauty of what goes on inside this stunning hotel.

It was wonderful to walk in and to see the familiar faces and lovely smiles from the Doormen and the Front desk staff who warmly welcomed us back.

It's a lovely feeling also walking into your room as they are beautiful and the beds are extremely comfortable. Room Service do a great job in delivering what you've ordered to your room promptly and always with a smile. Every evening there is a turndown service with a bottle of water put on your bedside table. The Housekeeping team do a brilliant job in keeping your room spotless each day.

The guest areas are the Drawing Room and the Library which has an Honesty Bar for guest use - these rooms are beautifully decorated and are very comfortable to enjoy for an afternoon tea or you can order food from the Room Service Menu.

We had breakfast in Brasserie Max every morning and once again the service was impeccable and great food - we also had dinner there nearly every night as the service we were given was always so special and the food was delicious. The team who work in Brasserie Max are all brilliant in what they do.

On our second stay at the end of May the scaffolding was being pulled down and the grand old lady was smiling again and it was lovely to be back for our 3 night stay - Bliss!

The people who work here are all wonderful and friendly and really help to make this a 5 star Hotel. It really is the only place to stay when in London. We couldn't stay anywhere else - plus the location of being in Covent Garden is a real treat.

Thank you Helle Jensen and Nicola James for always making us feel so welcome.

This was our fifth time at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. They upgraded us to a suite. The rooms are large and comfortable anyway, but the suite is amazing. Service is impeccable. The location is perfect. This is our favorite place to stay in London and one of our favorites in the world.

Room Tip: We've stayed there many times and loved all our rooms, but the Terrace Room is the best.

This is my home-away-from-home in London. The people are the nicest, with the personal touch at every turn -- keeping track of your favorite rooms, what you like (in my case, quiet), helping with the little things, remembering you from one stay to the next. The facility itself is lovely. The rooms are tastefully done in a creative way, but soothing and restful. The beds are so comfortable with delicious Frette bed linens and very good pillows. The rooms are great for sleeping. Room service is the best! They will make whatever you want -- lots of vegetables and fruit, good yogurt and fresh fish and lean meat. And room service delivery is so nice and so speedy. The location is perfect, not far from the financial center of London, but close to the theaters, the British Museum, St. Martin's in the Field and the National Gallery -- a good walking area. This is truly a business traveler's dream.

Room Tip: Try different rooms and see what you like.

I recently traveled to the UK, I am currently working in Lagos for a Nigerian company and cannot believe the quality of service received at The Covent Garden Hotel.

You can hardly tell that a 5star Hotel is hiding behind such walls... The moment you step in and get greeted by the Doorman/Concierge you know you have stepped in somewhere special.

The girls at Reception were as friendly and knowledgeable as I have ever encountered - Bianca and Yodagh (?) - the concierge was also very knowledgeable and friendly.

Now, to the best part; The beautiful Drawing Room and Library area with an Honesty Bar (!!!!), I loved that place. I have many friends in London and these were just an excuse to entertain, couldnt let it pass!

The overall rooms, and excellent service make this not a 5, but a 6 or 7 star property.

Love you all at Covent Garden Hotel, will return...

Room Tip: Windows are double glazed and even though youre in the center of London, you will have the best most...

After seeing the outside tables jammed full on the previous warm Friday evening, we celebrated a birthday afternoon tea in the restaurant of this absolutely charming hotel next day and wished we had booked to stay. The staff were highly attentive, the decor decoratively soothing, the food stylishly filling and atmosphere subtly intoxicating. We loved it and will come back without a second thought to stay overnight on one of their cinema evenings.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Covent Garden Hotel opened in April 1996 but the building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Covent Garden Hotel is "a quirky modern take on traditional English style." The hotel's interior has been dramatically designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into Brasserie Max, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery. Downstairs there is a gym, private event space and a screening room. ... more   less
