Went to Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge store back in 2009 with late Fiance and I can remember us having a very nice lunch - but the queue is always quite long-seems a long wait to get a table. Staff rushed off of their feet!

I went along to the branch today-Friday 15th June 2012 to see if it was still the same as I had remembered. Travelling from Parsons Green, Fulham, London, SW6 a Number 14 Bus goes all the way to store-but the bus stop is a little walk down to get to Harvey Nichols-dependant on how fast a walker you are-I woulds say 5-10 minute. On way back C1 Bus goes to Harrods = a 4 minute journey exactly-its the first stop! Then Number 14 Bus back to Fulham Broadway.

The store is quite small and you can feel a little claustrophobia. Its very warm inside. There are plenty of perfumes, makeup, clothes - cover most floors. The toilets are kept to a high clean standard-these not changed. Except lock on door was bit tough-and I had fear getting locked in-so warned waiting folk I would leave my shopping behind it to signal I was in there. The cleaner stood guard for me.

The 5th Floor has a Champagne & Sushi Bar as well as Coffee & Tea/Juice Bar. Small grey studded seating in wooden booths - but more room one side than the other. If you need room to stretch - example a tall person or a well made person you will find leg room rather tight. I had a pot of Early Grey Tea-can get 2 cups out of and cost round about £2.95p (English monies). It was a ordinary blue teapot and the menu did look quite nice - but I wasn't hungry enough to have something from their range of nibbles - then onto something more filling. Being fair the waitress was very nice and service was quick as to be expected for a cup of tea basically.

The staff were friendly if you happen to look a bit lost. There are lifts-but they are very small-not sure if would be very wheelchair/buggy friendly-certainly a NHS (National Health Service wheelchair would not fit in the lift)! There is even CCTV in the lift as well. Quite clean.

To be honest I was bored stiff within 10 minutes of being in the store and wished I'd continued my journey to Fortnum & Mason, Green Park, Piccadilly or gone to Harrods, Knightsbridge-just 4 minutes away! Never mind cannot win all the time.

This store was supposedly a favourite of the late Princess Diana - but to be honest I cannot see the attraction with this store that much-I'm sorry to say!

Just an honest opinion!

There are by the way lots of escalators - some members of staff had long faces-like they wished to be elsewhere - boredom I presume. Others were very nice!

Trip Advisor!

A definite must while visiting London, the clothes and beauty section are out of this world. The 5th floor is a must, the champagne bar is great with cosy booths, the 5 th Floor Cafe is great for lunch, great choice on the menu and the service is superb. The food is freshly made and the kitchen is open plan, so you can see the chefs preparing your food. reasonably priced sandwiches and salads, even the drinks are not too expensive.
The food halls are interesting, with great choice for coffees, teas and biscuits, which all come in great collective tins.
All in all had a fab time in Harvey Nics and felt like Patsy out of Ab Fab in the Champagne Bar !!
