Owner description: Harrods remains at the height of British luxury retail, attracting millions of loyal customers from across the globe with its unrivalled product selection, world-class service, innovative retail theatre and historic setting. The store was opened in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod as an expansion of his humble East End grocery and tea business. Today, it is one of the most distinguished names in the world. Seven floors and 330 departments showcase the best of luxury merchandise, from high-end fashion and accessories to the finest homewares and the latest technology. There are 28 restaurants in-store; we continue to enhance our portfolio with Galvin Demoiselle, Bentley's Sea Grill, and the institution that is The Georgian. Customers enjoy a wealth of exclusive services, such as By Appointment Personal Shopping and The Penthouse, a private suite dedicated to unsurpassed bespoke service in a beautiful environment. Other departments include the Urban Retreat at Harrods spa, a theatre ticket bureau, and The Studio, the store's interior-design service. Qatar Holding acquired the business in 2010, and it continues to guide - and invest strongly in - the store according to its philosophy: Anything is possible. Harrods continuously seeks to surpass the desires and expectations of its customers, staying true to its original motto: Omnia omnibus ubique (everything for everyone, everywhere). Harrods is located on Brompton Road, near the Knightsbridge London Underground station.

Luxury, luxury and more luxury! It is very british and very international at the same time. I tend to prefer the traditional shops of Jermyn St or Saville Row, but it is allways nice to visit Harrods, particularly the food hall - it is awsome!

Everytime I'm in London I make a point to visit Harrod's. I'm not sure if my bf feels the same, but it's a must for women.

It is so easy to get to, all you do is get off the underground at Knightsbridge, walk out of station and Harrod's door's are right there!!

I honestly have never purchased anything much except some Dim Sum, chocolates and a souvenir mug due to my severe lack of funds lol, but it is pretty amazing place to jjust walk around and "window shop". As you probably have already guessed, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Harrod's foodhall. It's just amazing. The smells and vast selection of treats and snacks from around the world on offer. You can also sit in and eat at one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants scattered throughout the store, so bring lots of money and an empty belly!!

To be honest, I wasn't interested in the clothes department at all as it was all about the foodhall for me but, you will find all the lastest fashions from any designer you are looking for in Harrod's. Another favourite of mine was the jewellery department. The staff at Tiffany (and the diamond ring store beside) were particularly lovely and very welcoming. The assitant in Tiffany even offerred to let me try on a £9000 yellow diamond ring, but I was too scared so I declined lol.

The only small negative is that Harrod's is really busy all day, every day..and you need a small fortune to shop there :-(.. it is quite difficult to navigate the huge building, but again this can be very exciting to discover what the next room has to offer!! The Eygptian themed escalator/hall is amazing. It is as though you have stepped back in time. Also, look out for the beautiful memorial water fountain for Dodi Al Fayed and Princess Diana at the bottom of the store.

You really can buy absolutely the latest and best of everything in Harrod's, don't miss it when you visit London. Just remember to take lots of money with you!!

One last general London tip- I recommend visiting between April and October, I visited January this year and the weather was just unbearable (and I am from the UK). You won't want to go outside.

Could not believe this was my first visit but so glad my wife and I went. The Egyptian escalator is well worth a visit on it's own and we went from top to bottom. The food halls were great and interesting just to 'window shop'. We enjoyed Pets Corner and spent some time with afternoon tea in The Tea Room. The store is large and a map is a good idea unless you are a frequent visitor. You could spend a day in Harrods just shopping and add a little people watching. A recommended must to visit.

Large store that specialises in the high end, not much different from the Macys of the USA, apart from the heritage (when it used to be a bargin basement store)

this place is the best place for shopping. Definitely, it was a little heavy on the budget.
The best place was the chocolate area and the place where you get ice-creams...
oooohhhhh... the ice creams were just so delicious, it just fills the stomach..
loved it.. definitely a place to see...
