I have just visited the William Blake exhibition, and would absolutely recommend it.
It gives a thorough and interesting insight into this man's extraordinary talents as a poet, artist , social commentator and visionary.
The exhibits are chronologically displayed and the booklet given at the entrance is very useful as an overview of each room's contents.
My daughter and I loved the exhibition, and Tate Britain is such a beautiful building with a convenient riverside location- perfect for a stroll on a sunny winter's afternoon.
My only quibble is that, despite pre- booking timed tickets, the rooms were a bit too crowded , making some of the paintings difficult to view- particularly for those of us who are not very tall!

A wonderful treasure close to the Houses of Parliament full of British art cleverly displayed in rooms set out by decades. We targeted the Turner rooms which held so many of his paintings. Plus as a national gallery it is free so open to all.

Wonderful art collections, all through out the gallery, most interesting art collections for me were on the short films on the super mega screen rooms, some interesting stuff.

My partner and I went to the William Blake exhibition and also took a look around the rest of the gallery as well as trying out the cafe. Cafe was ok but eat before you arrive would be my advice. The artworks were amazing. Loved all of what we saw of william blake and marvelled at how ahead of his time he was. So under-appreciated. The gallery is realtively small and easy to move aroud in so you won't get lost. Pick up a brochure as you walk in and wander around, you won't be disappointed. Its also alovely walk from the city down to the museum so if you get the tube into central london, why not walk down to the museum.

Tate Britain is one of the best museums in London and the admission is free. They have some wonderful John Singer Sargent paintings as well as John Constable and Turner. The collection is hung by time line and the 1880's and 1890's rooms were closed for renovation when I visited. (some of my favorites are in these rooms) Still the staff was pleasant and there were still pleasures to be had. John Singer Sargent was represented by Lily, Lily ,Carnation, Rose and Ellen Terry as Lady Mac.B. And there were other British treasures. Also they have a wonderful gift shop with some great gifts .
