“Very nice out of town hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

We stayed at The Hide in June for 6 nights. The tube connection (Hendon Central) is right down the street and is a very easy walk. We got an Oyster card (highly recommend) and used the tube and buses in London. It is about a 25 minute ride on the tube to the center of London. Our room was very nice - great shower and enjoyed the chocolates and the drinks in the refrigerator. The drinks in the refrigerator were replaced everyday which is a very nice feature. The breakfast in the morning is also very nice - cereal, fruits, yogurt, meats, pastries, juice and tea and coffee. We were on the first floor in Room 1 and we had to ask them to close the hallway door at night because of the noise from the front desk and breakfast room/bar. They were very willing to do this. Our room was facing the back of the hotel so we did not hear the road noise as some others have mentioned. The only problem we had was the WiFi which was not working properly at all. We went to the desk, probably every day, to address this problem. We were a little disappointed that it was not fixed in the 6 days that we were there. The young lady at the front desk assured us that the IT tech was working on it. There is a great little convenience store right near Hendon Central that we visited. There isn't too much in the way of restaurants in the area. There is a Domino's pizza across the street from the tube station. All in all we enjoyed our stay there very much and would highly recommend The Hide. If we return to London, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room not near the breakfast room/front desk and also from others that you ask fo...

Excellent hotel, easy to find off the M1. Excellent bus service and tube service to central London.
The hospitality at the hotel was superb.Very friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms were furnished to a high standard and included complimentary extra's.
Breakfast was first class with a wide range of continental foods.
Very good value for money considering this is a London hotel. Facilities around the hotel are very good with a few bars, pubs, shops, bank and eating places.
We would certainly use again and have recommended to family and friends.
Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Note: If travelling in and around London on either tube or bus it is cheaper to purchase a day rider ticket for the various zones or an oyster card and this is pay as you go. These can be purchased at any tube station.

My wife and I found The Hide while helping our daughter move to NW London. I have stayed in many London Hotels and this is now my favourite. Great value, generous range of complimentary extra's in the bathroom and in the fridge, friendly helpful staff. The continental breakfast was varied with lots of good fresh options; smoked salmon and meats - vegetarians have a choice of fruits, bread, pastries and cakes. The free parking was valuable and put The Hide ahead of many other local hotels. It is handy for Hampstead Heath which we visited for the first time and were impressed how nice a park it is.
The less than excellent elements are few - but a couple to be aware of; The parking is tight, but if you dare squeeze through to the back it felt secure. The towels are not brilliant but clean and adequate. It is a hike into Central London but for the cost and quality of the hotel worth the extra journey.
I would definitely go back and highly recommend it

Fantastic hotel, truly lovely staff who could not do enough for you, beautiful rooms, one minute walk to the tube giving full access to everything you could possibly want to see! I will go back again and again. A massive ten out of ten for me. I booked two rooms, one for, my husband and I and one my two teenage daughters and I cannot give this hotel enough praise, we had rooms next door to each other spotless clean and with a, fridge containing cold hospitality refreshments, a safe for your valuables and an inclusive continental breakfast that was fantastic consisting of all the fruit, cereal, meat, cheeses, breads etc it was an absolute delight.

Room Tip: We had rooms 1 & 2 which where excellent quality and quiet at night.

We booked The Hide last minute for a trip to watch the Olympics. As we drove down to London from the North we found the hotel coniveniently situated just off the M1, the free parking was also a bonus and getting into central London was quick and easy, under 30 mins on the tube which is 2 mins walk away. Our room, an executive double, was spotlessly clean with a complimentary mini bar, chocolates , and lovely l'Occitaine products in the large modern bathroom. An excellent and varied continental breakfast is included in the room rate and to celebrate the Olympic season the bar in the lounge was open for complimentary drinks and canapés for 2 hours each evening. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful and a special mention for the Manager Mr Ranjit Tillekeratne who was the perfect host. We will definitely return to the hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We stayed during the Olympics in The Hide. The Hotel is very nice decorated, the rooms are small but a nice and luxury style. Our room did not have a nice view but was quiet. There is no elevator so we had to walk 2 stairs. For elderly people I will not recommend this. The staff is not very outgoing and not attentive. The check in was a bit strange, we arrived late. The guy was a bit strange and we need to pay our whole stay at checkin. The first morning we had breakfast it was great, we were very early because we had to go to the Olympic Park. Great choice and good coffee and nice decorated restaurant. The second morning we were around 10.00 (Breakfast ends 10.30. Everything was empty, all table were dirty, very disappointed. The location of the hotel is very far from the centre (45 minutes by underground).

Hotel is very trendy and clean. Has most amenities available except for iron/ironing board.

The location is 30-40 minutes away from Central London. The area this small boutique is located in was not very safe. I was with one other female and we did not feel safe walking by ourselves in the afternoon to a restaurant. I recommend taking a cab. There are not many restaurants close by so expect to walk quite a distance.

I recommend this hotel if you are going with a big group and want to save money.

Room Tip: Low income area - do not walk, take a cab.
