“Elegant venue”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Saw "The Dream" ballet here in June 2014. The show was phenomenal, and the venue itself is a "dream." Rich wood finishes and Queen Elizabeth II's royal cypher stitched in the stage curtain. British entertainment doesn't get better than this!

“Wow”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

This is something to really treat youselves with. Splurge some money and enjoy the occasion for all it is. Whether you like opera or ballet or not you will have a great time in the splendour of the place. Food is excellent so book a table. You don't have to dress up, there is no dress code, but why not look splendid.

“Expensive...but worth it!”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Being an avid opera buff, I try to catch opera events wherever I can.

The Royal Opera House was not a disappointment.

Situated in the lovely area of Covent Garden in London, the building is a mixture of old and new. The staff were efficient and friendly enough and overall it was a marvelous experience.

The opera was of course magnificent! Tickets are incredibly expensive, especially if you buy last-minute and want good seats. So it's better to plan ahead and get the seats at the price you want.

“Doesn't have to cost a fortune”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Other reviews say it all about the amazing building, splendid staff etc.
There are cheaper seats that often go quickly, but some are returns on the day.
There's actually less snobbery than many ordinary venues (eg, people bring in their own sandwiches and eat them in the foyer etc).
Programmes have lots of useful info and interesting articles.
