Which is probably just as well, because the seats are so much cheaper. My wife and I can't afford to go there all that often but whenever we go it's a treat to look forward to. If you can afford to eat and drink there too you're in for a great experience. I guess I have just two problems with the ROH. I can't afford to eat there. And some of their productions depending on original choreography and settings are probably most enjoyable for the purists. But they are coincidentally well nigh interminable for the rest of us.

The old flower market (inside) is a nice place for a drink, before heading to an amazing opera performance (or ballet). Food is average, but is a memory that will stay!

Went to see the nutcracker, was very amazed by the ambiance and the surroundings. The ballet was beautiful and entertaining.

Had a great view even in really cheap seats. Excellent dancing and a special evening out. The Nutcracker in particular was an excellent production.

First rate opera in a stunning old theatre. The tickets are quite expensive but opera lovers will feel that their money has been well spent.

For the frugal traveller, one can also get standing room on the day of the performance for £10, and as the curtain rises, the standing room patrons almost invariably get a seat, and often a very good one.
