Beautiful! Go up to the top – it’s worth the climb on a nice day. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of the city. And even if you only go to the top of the inside dome, do so. After going to the top of St. Paul's we decided we didn't need to do the London Eye.

St. Paul's is one of the great churches of the world so be sure to experience it. Plan to start a day there so you can devote enough time as there is a lot to see. If you are able, make the climb to the top and you will be rewarded with outstanding views of the city. There are a lot of steps so don't rush and you will be fine. As mentioned in other reviews it does take a lot of energy to do all of the steps. Take your time and rest periodically and you can do it. The whisper gallery is unique. Respect the fact that it is a place of worship and services may start when you are there. St. Paul's survived WWII and has a history that you should explore! One of the must stops in London!

St Pauls is worth a visit regardless of being a resident or visitor to the capital. However, do take your time there as there is a lot to see. And visit the peak of the dome (if you dare!) the views are one of the best in London (currently my Mac wallpaper!)

Went into St Pauls after going to the Shard (which is a total rip off) For £14 we went around for about 2 hours, then climbed up the dome to the Whispering Gallery then 271 more steps and reached the Golden Gallery at the very top of the dome where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across London. Not for the unfit though

I was amazed by my experience in St. Paul's cathedral. I love music, so I thought I would plan my visit around the evensong service. I was so happy that I did. It was a gorgeous service, and a good chance to sit peacefully under the great dome of the cathedral. (there is also no fee for attending evensong-which is just a bonus). Before the service began, I listened to the Rick Steves audio guide (podcast) of St. Paul's cathedral which was a great orientation. I would love to return to St. Paul's in order to see the view over the city. Make sure to plan your hours around the opening times, as the hours are not extensive.
