Owner description: Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances. Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

The rising and dropping of the Chandelier...this play is the best at Her Majesty' Theatre, Every time we visit London I must see it....

Great night there! The Theater is marvelous and the spectacle is speechless. Certainly one of the best!

I have seen this show twice, and both times I have had good seats in the stalls. The show is brilliant and the standard of performers are first class. The stage sets are great, and I think this show will be going for many more years and I will be back to see it for the 3rd time soon.

I have seen most of the big shows in the west end over many years, and this show along with Miss Saigon (sadly closed years ago) are my 2 top shows.

But pay up and smile, purchasing the best seats (central and circle) as viewing is restricted if you go too high in the theatre and you do need to see!
A good choice for teenagers new to the theatre, ours loved it. Have seen it many times last trip July 12.

It's the only show I've ever seen more than once in the same version. I seem to see different bits each time although I confess I am going to give it a rest for a year or so. I'm sure it will still be around. The plot holds up - though the opera within an opera idea creaks a bit here and there. But the occasional bit of stage magic gives the show a lift and of course there's a uitably dramatic finale. If you've never seen it, you ought to go. It's great.
