Owner description: Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances. Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

Show was fantastic, a lot of people don't appreciate opera trained vocalists who have to act as well so well done. Sound system is fantastic but the only draw back is the venue - with more posts than a power plant's chimney and extreme heat - I'll watch it again I think - in my swimming shorts.

The heroine Christine's acting was terrible. For 2.5hrs, I had to keep wondering if she was sick or an underplay or a daughter of some big patron. All the other actors and actresses were great.
I am very, very curious why she could act like that.

It is really amazing actually! I think it is the most popular and meaningful opera which has been played for several decades and still loved by many people! Very good scenes and songs!!!

Sets, artists, all brilliant, however the score is not exactly memorable. Didn't come out singing any of the songs. Seen better musicals

Simply one of the best, most emotive musicals ever written. Even if you are a person who does not like musicals, if you only ever see one, see this! Spectacular show with an amazing atmosphere. The theatre staff are wonderfully helpful and provide lovely service.
