“Exciting Boutique Hotel in the Heart of London”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

One Aldwych is an exciting and beautiful boutique hotel on the Strand in the very heart of London. The modern hotel rooms are beautiful and quiet with large baths and a very comfortable bed. They have fresh flowers in each room and beautiful art, and turn down service at night, including a card with a weather report for the next day. Morning breakfest in the Indigo restaurant on the merzzannine is superb. The staff are all very attentive and helpful and you are treated like you are a star. Given the hotel's superb location, it is an easy walk to the theatre and to many of the best museums and historial sites of London. I especially enjoyed the beautiful lobby bar where I enjoyed some very stylish, inventive and tasty cocktails. I spent 7 heavenly days at One Aldwych and I will return many times in the future.

The lobby bar is a great for a nice refreshment. Service is very attentive from the moment you arrive. You get a great welcome from the doorman. Inside its very calm and if you are lucky to get a seat near the window, you'll see the world whiz past you.

Cocktails are great, slightly expensive, but you are in central theatre land!

The lobby bar at One Aldwych, in a beautuflly designed high-ceilinged former banking hall, is a wonderful place to meet up. We had a perfect bar lunch from the bar snacks menu (good house champagne plus Dorset crab on toast) and when the charming waitress discovered it was my wife's birthday, she presented us with a free delicious chocolate cake with our coffees. Around us people were having slightly media-ish business meeting huddled over laptops. You can expect to pay dearly for this, but for a special occasion (or to spend someone else's expense account) it's perfect.

This Five star hotel is located in the theatre district and walking distance to the famous covent gardens. One Aldwych Hotel has magnificent hotel rooms from executive to luxury suites that can accomodate six or more. The rooms are impeccable crisp clean blankets spotless floors wi-fi flat t.v. screens access to an incredible gym with trainers. The olympic size heated swimming pool is complete with music under water.
The lobby is tastefully decorated with a seemingly papier mache dog giant flower vases a comfortable lounge and full bar. A restaurant that changes it's menu frequently with the most delectable dishes. My executive room came complete with a king size bed two comfortable sofa chairs magazine table, shoe shine daily service a newspaper and fresh flowers daily . For around $400. dollars a day it was a real buy.
This is all within walking distance to Big Ben the giant clock , westminster road London eye, which is across from river thames. Within blocks from the covent gardens where the famous Royal Ballet is located book your tickets early for a tour and stories of this fantastic ballet and you might want to book tickets for the ballet. Enjoy

From the astounding lobby to the state of the art pool and gym everything about this place is beautifully thought out. Staff are amazingly helpful and the concierge has, over the course of many stay, managed last minute "unobtainable"restaurant reservations.
The rooms are small but well thought out and very comfortable. Only one complaint - the lobby bar can get very crowded and noisy early evening.

Room Tip: go for the best you can afford - suites are wonderful but expensive

Very positive opinion!

Quite good service from the concierge up to the swimming pool, well-designed and comfortable originally.
The location is also great- near Covent Garden and the West End.
Rooms are quite small and is not cheap. ...and, if the window is open - a bit noisy...but clean and comfortable.
The English Breakfast is very original and VERY tasty!

Stayed for the first time at One Aldwych for 3 days over Easter 2013 and cant fault it!

Very comfortable rooms, lovely, friendly welcome upon arrival and all staff were helpful and attentive.

Added bonuses are pool and nice bar for a nightcap. We didn't eat at the hotel as we had a full schedule of sightseeing etc but did make breakfast on one morning and had room service both of which were great.

The location is also brilliant with Covent Garden just around the corner and a tube a few minutes walk away.

No complaints at all and definitely would return!

Room Tip: Try Simpsons on the Strand for a meal - really lovely
