“London stay”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We booked this hotel for a theatre trip. Very well located for both Oxford Street & Covent Garden. Nice bar with good choices of cocktails. We have stayed here a couple of times of Theatre visits and I would definitely recommend it. It is clean and very well maintained, the rooms are very comfortable. We were fortunate to stay in an executive suite on this occasion but previously stayed in a standard room, both are very comfortable and despite the central London location there is very little outside noise.

Stayed here last night 14th Feb 2013. Amazing hotel, amazing service and amazing location.

Booked the hotel using for a romatic evening evening with my better half. From the moment we arrived I knew we had chosen the right place. Booked a room for two and upon arrival the nice lady and gentlement upgraded us to a plush deluxe room/suite. The room was spacious and very light and airy with views over the British Museum and central london. Everything was elegant and stlyish from the room sized wardrobe to the artistic Showers and Bath to the way fragrant smell of roses.

I am usually difficuly to impress but between the upgrade, amazing views/location and the elegance of the suite I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: The only thing that would perfect this hotel is a Pool on the roof!

We booked this for our 13th anniversary thinking it was a great deal.
Whilst the welcome and check-in was friendly & faultless, the room was immensely disappointing. It was small & with a strange soulless layout. We chose an 'internal' room thinking it would be quieter - how wrong can you be. The soundproofing was terrible and both myself and my partner had very little sleep, being disturbed all night with sirens, flushing toilets and banging doors.
Sadly, the breakfast experience didn't do anything to improve our stay either. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table and then, whilst the food was good, the set up meant that people were constantly walking past our table on the way to the self service area. The coffee was poor and we got only one small cup as the serving staff seemed to be busy clearing tables.
We mentioned our disappointment at check out but the lady on reception seemed uninterested.
All in all it's fair to say that we've stayed in much better hotels in London for a much cheaper price. Disappointing.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us, although naturally I am disappointed that you feel your stay for your 13th Anniversary was not as it should have been.
I am really sorry to hear about the issue you encountered with regards to the overnight noise and would like to apologise for the undoubted inconvenience caused.
The service issues you have highlighted have already been discussed with the Head of Departments concerned for them to take immediate actions as it is not the usual standards of the hotel.

Have stayed at the Bloomsbury Street Hotel many times, lovely modern rooms, can highly recommend the king deluxe rooms and friendly helpful staff. We were celebrating my birthday with a trip to the theatre and received a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates. The hotel is located very close to Covent Garden and Leicester Square and also Oxford Street for the mandatory shopping! Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, like the way the tables are laid out meaning you can talk to the person with you with leaning over the table, so that everyone doesn't hear your conversation.
Will definitely return to this hotel and one day maybe stay on the exclusive top floor!!!

Room Tip: Inside rooms quieter due to traffic noise on outside rooms.

Overall I was impressed with the hotel communal areas and quality of service/ food. However I was disappointed with the room quality, there were several items that require improvement, and had I not been staying on business with tight timescales, I would have asked to swap rooms!

1) No carpet trim between the bedroom and bathroom
2) Hairs in the sink and shower
3) Shower door would not close properly
4) Old toothpaste marks on the area around the sink
5) Mini bar was not fully replenished
6) Room service took 20 minutes to send a glass of wine!

Last general comment- attaching the iron to the ironing board made it extremely difficult to use!!!!!!! I am surprised given their target market (4 star and £200+) that they had taken a decision to do this! Also implies you do not trust your guests!

Overall, unless this hotel was booked for me by the business again- I would probably not choose to stay again

Overnight stay as a treat for my partners birthday to visit theatre and would definately return. Staff polite, friendly and helpful. Lovely quiteroom on request. Due to bad weather had dinner in the hotel which was exceptionally good. Excellent breakfast. Received complimentary bottle of wine as birthday treat which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Can recommend upgrading to delux room if possible for the extras. Good location for the theatre, covent garden, oxford street and tube station. Would loved to have stayed another night or two.

Room Tip: We requested a quite room away from lift, stairs, air conditioning. Had a deluxe corner room which...

I stayed here for 1 night in a single room as I was heading for a night out with friends in town and wanted to stay out late without rushing for trains home. The hotel is in a great location, perfect for Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road which is walkable within 5-10 minutes easily. Modern, stylish and a more upmarket hotel than some others. The room was extremely clean, and very comfortable. I was able to sleep without any noise disturbance and the hotel was more than happy to accommodate my request of a late check out the next morning due to having a Hangover and needing more sleep! I spent 45 minutes in the hotel bar before heading out which was also stylish, comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were all friendly, made you feel welcome and valued and went out of their way to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel and consider it again!
