I have stayed at the Connaught many time. I always enjoy the ease of the Mayfair location - great for highend designer fashion and accessory shopping and a few minutes walk from the more affordable Oxford St.The rooms are specious with all amenities needed from a 5 star hotel. I love the location, their High Tea and their breakfast which is delicious.

enjoyed a very pleasant long weekend stay at the connaught. staff are super friendly and eager to please especially the concierge staff who were so helpful with many small inquiries. stayed in a wonderful room overloooking carlos place.. extremely quiet despite the location on the street. king room with luxe decor of soft muted tones. incredibly fast wi fi connection.. the best in london...nice amenities - fluffy robes, slippers, hot towels, mineral water and everything worked from the room temperature controls, tv, great phone system and towel warmer to the super fast hair dryer. The hotel's rich dark wood decor and large antique paintings feels more like an estate or private club. An early morning meeting required 0600 wake up, breakfast and a private car all within 30 minutes.... breakfast arrived upon receipt of the wake up call and the car was ready on time. Enjoyed breakfast lunch and dinner at the bistro on different days and all was really superb! have stayed at one of the sister hotels in the group but the Connaught in quiet Mayfair is definitely a step above the the busy Belgravia Berkeley. The Connaught is currently at the top of my list for London Hotels!

What a wonderful hotel in a great location of London. We stayed at The Connaught for about two weeks and enjoyed every day of our visit. Service was excellent, as exemplified by the door attendant and concierges. The door attendant knew us after our first day. When asked were we could find a particular type of pottery the concierges telephoned his “mum”, who worked as a buyer in a London department store to gain assistance. Our suite was located on the third floor, very comfortable and with all the amenities that one would expect from a five star hotel. We dined in the restaurant most mornings for breakfast and three evenings. Breakfast meals were excellent; well prepared and served hot. Dinner meals were excellent as well. A small bar is located next to the lobby, serving snacks and drinks. This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting London. One minor note, it’s about a 25 to 30 minute ride from the hotel to the theaters in the West End. While one trip is not a bothersome, we had tickets to three shows so the second and third ride became a little long. As you might expect all this service and attention comes at a price.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the rear of the hotel provide a more quiet setting.

From the moment you enter the semi-circular driveway to the Connaught, you are in another world -- a world of elegance and luxury -- a world of literature -- characters in Thackeray's "Vanity Fair" lived on this street and it's around the corner from Nancy Mitford's favorite bookstore -- a world of dreams, The Connaught is a hidden gem in the heart of London and yet light years away -- an oasis of peace and calm in one of the busiest and most fascinating cities in the world. The rooms are sumptuous; the service impeccable. As Mary Poppins would say, "It's practically perfect in every way."

From the moment you pull up in a Taxi and are greeted by the doorman, you know you're walking into class. The Interior is like entering a set from Downton Abbey, just exquisite, from the staircase, the hallways, the artwork, its like going back in time but with all the modern conveniences. We entered our room and it was heaven, the nice firm bed, down pillows and crisp sheets. Lovely stay, very close to Bond Street, Oxford Street and the Parks.

Room Tip: They're probably all good, perhaps the corner of the property is quieter.

The proximity to shopping is great. However, it is somewhat far from the major attractions. Service was wonderful, including at the hotel restaurant. The only downside was that rooms, while very well appointed, were small, even for European standards.

My husband and I arrived at The Connaught and found a lovely hotel. Beautiful old finishes but not stuffy. The concierges were all very knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. We were leaving London by train to visit friends in the country and the concierge sent a staff member to buy tickets for us ahead of time for a small fee. This saved us time and aggravation when we arrived at the station, not to mention a large amount of money had they booked it for us through a travel agent. We were very grateful for this service and attention.

We have stayed at Claridges and The Dorchester before and this compared favorably. It is a rather small hotel and it has an intimate feel to it. We were disappointed in not receiving an upgrade through our American Express reservation but they were, apparently, quite full.

Our room was pleasant and clean but not overly generous in size. The bathroom was clean but a little dated. We have been used to a little more space with double sinks and a separate shower. This shower is in the tub and water tends to spray around a bit. This was a bit surprising considering the amount that we paid and the classification of the hotel. Also, there weren't any dressers in the room and we ended up having clothes in every nook and cranny that we could find rather than in one area. I suspect that when they updated the rooms, they changed some closet space around to put in a flat screen TV and a mini bar. Not easy to organize one's belongings.

I would consider staying here again because of the location and service but I would think about other properties as well.

Room Tip: We had an inside room that didn't have a view but it was very quiet and private. Ask if there i...
