I accidentally discovered this hotel - most certainly deserves its 5 star but in a very British understated way. The staff were exemplary. From the doorman, to the executive manager, Warren Miller, nothing was too much trouble. The Michelin star is an added bonus! Superb location in Knightsbridge.

When staying at The Capitoal Hotel you never feel away from home. The personal atmosphere and key persons - having been there for decades - makes a differnece!

I have stayed here for 20 years and it is a home away from home. The key staff are part of the charm having been there many years and still cheery and extremely helpful. The bar , restaurant, and Le Metro wine bar next door cover all needs in a great location.

I have been a frequent guest at the Capital but not been there in about a year. Always welcomed as if I am arriving home. Hall Porters are helpful and able to obtain tickets for hard-to-get shows, know the restaurants and look after you. While a small hotel of about 42 rooms but still provide a full range of services; lack a business office but have set aside an area with an internet connection.

Always recommend it for stays in London. Convenient to the tube and Knightsbridge shopping area.

My fiance and I spent four wonderful nights in London at this perfect hotel and I can't imagine how our trip could have been made better at any other place in London.
The location, the rooms, the staff(all of them but Clive in particular)and the food, all made for such a personalized treat in every way that we will anxiously wait for our next opportunity to visit.
I am in the service industry, and very particular because I know what a labor of love it is to give this kind of experience to people and it leaves an indelible mark on you.....one that money can't buy.
It is the reason we travel: in search of just this kind of adventure!
I would tell any one going to London that hands down this is the place for the top shelf whole package experience.
Bravo Capital Staff!

If you are looking for spanking newl ameneties in the guest rooms, this is not the best hotel but after staying many times, I can see things improving. What it does offer is an excellent restaurant, cellar, bar and wonderful old fashion service throughout the hotel which is very rare nowadays. Beds are wonderfully comfortable, rooms very clean even though a little down-at-heal.
