We stayed at the Draycott Hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff could not have been more welcoming and stayed in the Gilbert Suite which overlooked the gardens which felt like a home from home. The well stocked honesty bar was a perfect aperitif to welcoming our dinner guests before heading in town for dinner.
One of the more memorable hotels that I have stayed that is located in refined neighbour of Chelsea.

The Draycott is tucked away on the maze of Cadogan Gardens in the heart of Chelsea. It is a charming, old fashioned but luxuriously comfortable home from home. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.
Unlike the more modern hotels such as The Mayfair or the Millennium, the Draycott is quietly understated. A well appointed lounge area supports a well stocked honesty bar, where staff are on hand if needed but are otherwise totally discreet. Complimentary tea and biscuits are served in the late afternoon, followed by champagne in the early evening and after a night out in London what better than to return to hot chocolate in the lounge.
Every room has a theme, based on the life and works of British authors and playwrights. They are all roomy and well appointed, if chintz is for you. If you want an all singing all dancing modern vibrant atmosphere the the Draycott isn't for you, but for sheer comfort and top of the range service it can't be beaten.
It is next to, but not troubled by noise or traffic on, the KIng's \road. The nearest underground is Sloan Square, but in easy walking distance (10 minutes) from the Knightsbridge shopping area.

Room Tip: They are all good rooms. Parking is a problem, though you can get a discount at the local undergroun...

The Draycott is a picture-perfect, beautifully run boutique hotel in Cadogan Gardens, a lovely residential neighborhood of London. The beautiful rooms are individually decorated, and are named after figures from British literature and theater. The room looks out on the gardens. The hotel is a short walk to Sloane Square and to numerous fine restaurants and shops. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, with many luxurious touches. The bathrooms are fantastic.

Our family of five stayed at the Draycott (in the family suite) for the last three days of our Spring break. We had such a wonderful time...the suite was very large, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were amazing including the water pressure in the shower. The staff was amazing!!! Thank you so much for being so kind! The complimentary hot chocolate and champagne at the end of the day was most appreciated and a highlight of our stay. After a long day of sight seeing with the kids, having this time to unwind and recap our adventures was great. The Draycott staff made us feel "at home" and anyone traveling with kids knows how important that hospitality is. The location of the Draycott is wonderful as well...two min to Sloane Square! If your traveling to Chelsea do not hesitate to stay here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again to the staff....we will hopefully be back in the near future.

Room Tip: If your traveling with kids the family suite is a must.

Choosing a hotel in London is not easy....you think you've found the perfect place then read a few more reviews and check out the location and find it's not that good after all. In the end I used the Good Hotel Guide to find hotels in the Chelsea area and Tripadvisor to gain more visitor comments to confirm my choice of the Dracott. It was a good choice for our 3 night stay.
We had a lovely suite (Shaw) overlooking the gardens; it was spacious and comfortable with an excellent super-king bed and fine linen. The gas fire made things cosy. Bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. Plenty of storage space, even for my wife's clothes.
We encountered many different staff and without exception they were helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfasts in the room were varied and tasty with particularly good fried eggs and bacon. Room service was prompt and not too expensive.
The Draycott is quite old fashioned but that is one of its assets....it's like staying in a country house hotel (without the chintz) in the centre of Chelsea. And in fact the location is another big plus....1 minute's walk to Sloane Square, but still in a very quiet location.
Can't wait to return.

After spending an idyllic night in the Draycott back in September 2011, we jumped at the chance to stay there once again when we returned to London in February for a week long stay. My review back then said the Draycott was "perfection in London".

Well, unfortunately, it was not as wonderful this time. Back in September, we were warmly greeted and helped with our luggage. Not so this time. Our room in September was large, bright and fresh with a magnificent view of Cadogan gardens. This time we had a smaller darker room with a tired , worn seating area , stained carpeting, a smaller bathroom with barely enough room to keep toiletries ,inadequate lighting and an ordinary street view. Also, breakfast was disappointing. Overpriced with very little variety. On the positive side, the location is great, laundry service excellent and we loved the gas fired fireplace and fine linens. Complimentary afternoon tea was very nice. I think this hotel is fine for a brief stay, but for a longer visit, I would recommend staying in a newer hotel with modern conveniences, like an elevator that actually lets you off on your floor. It was just too good to be true.

Room Tip: Request a garden view. Stay away from "Sullivan"

I visited this hotel with some friends and from the moment we arrived it felt fabulous.

The staff were fantastic and I felt that nothing would be too much trouble for them. On arrival we were show to the lounge and brought a cup of tea before being taken to our rooms and shown all of the room features. It felt like a home from home.

The room (which I think was a standard room) felt like a suite, with beautiful furniture, and modern electronics including free wifi.

At night we made use of the "honesty bar" in the lounge, and breakfast was lovely.

The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was lovely too. I will definitely be returning.
