I have stayed here several times before and it never disappoints. Lovely hotel, excellent service, friendly and welcoming staff. Large, clean room with excellent facilities and a TV that doesn't require a degree in Quantum mechanics to find the right channel as soon as you switch it on. Great ambiance in the bar with excellent table service. A real treat staying here.

Our best friends were celebrating their 40 th wedding anniversary. We wished to buy champagne to be left in their room. Spoke to guest services who promised me they would send the appropriate form by 2 pm.. Nothing. Phoned again at 5pm to be told they had been too busy in a meeting but would send again, two days later still nothing .....guest services.. 5 star.. Really?

Don't normally review hotels or restaurants etc BUT, me and my boyfriend arrived at check in, staying for one night to spend some time shopping&eating& enjoying London to celebrate my 21st birthday, we checked in and the reception explained we had been upgraded to a deluxe room, amazing. THEN one of the managers comes out and says to the women, have you told them?! We looked at the lady thinking what?! She then said there had been some mix up with a group booking and we had been upgraded to the Ebony Suite!!! Which is one of the best suites in the hotel!! We were shocked, she took us up to the room on the 8th floor and WOW.
The suite was amazing. I will add pictures but it's was just gorgeous, huge living room, 2 bathrooms , huge shower and bath, massive roof terrace, fabulous bedroom.

It was a stay to remember, thank you so much for an amazing stay! The staff were so kind and friendly and the upgrade to the suite just made it extra extra special for my birthday!!
Thank you so much the may fair hotel! 5 stars !!

Booking a five star deluxe hotel in Mayfair/Central London for a Friday night and you arrive with certain expectations... Large room and bathroom, expensive furniture, comfortable beds, good food... The May Fair ticks all these boxes with ease; but it does a lot more! From the moment you walk in you just cannot help it; you feel like a popstar. We had our toddler with us and the team in the lobby were so nice and friendly to us and her in particular. I expected to find a lot at The May Fair but childfriendly was not one of them. We had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to arrange for a baby cot - so nice to find this already in the room upon arrival; makes all the difference not having to chase as in so many other hotels. The room was very large even though it was only a Superior with ample space for us and the baby. Located on the first floor but still absolutely quiet thanks to thick double glazing you could not hear a thing. We went to Quince for dinner; the food was lovely and Silvia looked after us on a busy night (waited a bit but it really did not matter). Breakfast was just the best with Kristina (not sure about spelling) again giving us "popstar treatment". Overall I could not fault a thing and look forward to returning - maybe without the baby to check out the very busy looking bar and cigar lounge?

Every time we are in London, we try to stay in the Mayfair area, since it is close to all the places we like to frequent.

This was our first time in the hotel, so we based our selection on the reviews written in Tripadvisor and other internet sites.

Indeed, when you arrive you are greeted by the aromatherapy infused in the lobby. It was not bothersome to me, as other guests have mentioned. Actually, my mom found it very nice.

The check in was confusing, especially bearing in mind that the same surname was used for the three rooms reserved by our travel agency. To clarify, we offered the 3 different bookings numbers and the email exchange with the Hotel explaining the room distribution. It seems that this information was not very helpful since they didn't respond anything to us. After 10 minutes, all was arranged and they kindly accommodated us in the same floor, close to each other, and provided us with the relevant information on breakfast time, spa offers and restaurant services.

All rooms were decorated in a very trendy style, with comfortable beds and bathrooms with an open closet area. The smoking room even have a small balcony with chairs. The turndown service was done every night.

The food was one of the surprising highlights of this place. After a long day walking the city we ended up exhausted in the Quincey restaurant. We ordered different dishes and all of them were delicious. In addition, the waiters were great and attentive to all our requests.

Breakfast was also well appointed, with good selection of British and continental options. The chocolate muffing stole the heart of my husband.

The bar had a great ambiance but we were surprised that closed around 11. We were the invited to move to the Quincey restaurant to continue our meeting.

The only downfall we found was the room temperature. It was very hot for everyone, and even if you lowered it down or even turned off the heating, it was very hot to sleep. We opened the windows to cool off (thankfully having a in-court room). We reported this, and they promised to look in the matter.

On the funny side, and since it is mentioned in other reviews, indeed the walls/doors are thin and they don't contain the noise of the guests. We had 10 min of loud noises, generating all kind of questions from our 4 year old nephew.

The May Fair is a very good option for London, especially if you are looking for a central location with nice service. The prices might be considered steep but their location is really worth it.
