We went in a group on the guided tour. This took us behind the scenes to see the back rooms, where rare books were being processed for viewing, and to a viewing gallery for the reading room. We found it all very interesting and informative. Kevin our guide, had a great sense of humour, and treated us as individuals, making the effort to draw us in to the discussions, remembering our particular interests. The two hours (apparently quite a lot longer than the usual tour) just flew by, and we then spent some time looking at the treasures and the gift shop. Entry to the library (and for use of the lockers) is free, but we paid £8/£6.50 concession for the tour. This is an impressive building, a fantastic collection and something of which we British can be proud.
