Entrance is free to the Library and the free exhibitions are worth seeing, the Magna Carta, Lindisfarne Gospels and early illuminated Bibles etc. The Mughal exhibition is well laid out and costs £7. It is worth the extra £3 for the audio. There is also a philatelic exhibition but it is all in sliding frames and difficult to access. We had lunch in the restaurant and it was excellent in quality and value ( a green thai curry.) The cafe was pricy later in the day. We spent six very enjoyable hours there.

Booked the Library tour on line and paid via debit card.Very efficient and great staff.Had a fantastic tour of all the building and its history and design.Sunday is the best day for the tour as its quiter and the reading rooms are empty. All questions were answered and saw some incredible items during and after the tour.Recommend the cafe and the gift shop also.

It's fair to say it's interesting here, but it's almost too big, unless you know what you are looking for. It's hard just to wander around and doesn't feel like a normal library

A very special Library keeping a copy of every British Daily paper for the past 100 years. Also students with "special" interests can get access to many books not easily accessed.
