have just returned from a brilliant overnighter with our brownie pack . We arrived around 5pm on Friday and the girls were soon changed into boys sailors and given groups to go in and the costumes for each group. Activities were provided for the whole evening , very much involving the girls , They had a wonderful time learning about sailing and then it was time for their evening meal, which they all enjoyed, rice and mixed vegetables and lots of bread. After dinner they were learning to fire a gun and take part in a battle with a Spanish ship. Around 9pm the girls got their sleeping bags out to spend the night between the cannons on the gun deck. Morning I was up at 6pm and couldn't resist going up on deck to see London waking up. Girls were soon awake and after a quick wash headed off for a breakfast of cheese, bread, fruit , flapjacks and one of the nicest hot chocolates I have ever tasted.

Only viewed from this from the outside, as this is an actual size replica it gives you a very clear idea on how small the ship is to have travelled so far. Well worth a visit.

What a truly entertaining afternoon! The Golden Hinde II is a copy of Captain Francis Drakes ship he used to circumnavigate the globe in 16th Century.
We went with our daughter on the 1 o'clock tour, with our truly entertaining guide 'Tom' who turned this experience into something we will talk about for years to come you felt you were in the Horrible Histories set! He engaged all the kids and asked for their help in re-enacting the journey on the 7 oceans.
Kids and adults alike were nearly wetting themselves with laughter! It was brilliant. The only reason this has 4 stars not 5 is that I do not believe there is enough to entertain if you do not do a tour with a guide, it only costs a £1 more after all.

As we were walking around the South Bank, we saw the ship. We only saw it from the outside but it looked very impressive. This is a replica of the ship Sir Francis Drake used to circumcise the globe. It was his flagship.
