“Very interesting”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

My daughter has always been a huge fan of Shakespeare's works. Whilst on a recent visit to London we went on a guided tour of the Theatre. The guide was fabulous. Not only was he very informative but obviously was also an actor as he made the tour so much better with his witty comments and "spot on" delivery. My family really enjoyed our visit here, even my nine year old granddaughter. Worth a visit, even if you are not a fan and just to see how the plays were presented at the time. The cafe's were also good. It was freezing outside but we enjoyed a nice lunch in the warmth before facing the cold again.

“Great venue, but take a rug!”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

The play we saw was King Lear and was only on for four nights before going on tour and was not brilliant. The venue itself is wonderful giving one a real idea of what it was like in the time of Shakespeare. It books out very quickly so book early and try to get a seat and standing is very hard!

“A Must Do!”
Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

Went to the Globe today to see both The Tempest and King Lear.
The theatre itself is amazing- exactly as it should be, with tradition perfectly preserved. Seats are wooden- bare that in mind- but you can hire cushions for £1!
Theres a decent shop, and plenty of information about the history behind the Globe. Plenty of restaurants nearby- Pizza Express, Starbucks, Real Greek etc, and The Swan onsite.
The Tempest was an amazing performance, the actors some of the best I've seen- do see it if you can! King Lear ended this evening, but I believe is now touring th e UK.

A definite must for everyone.

“A great experience even if you're not a Shakespeare's fan!”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Shakepeare is a great author and his readers know how profound are his characters and texts, how funny can a play be at the same time... But even if you've never read Shakespeare and are even not tempted to discover him, go to the Globe. It's a great place (the orginal place perfectly rebuilt) and experience a performance in this unusual place, impressive but very friendly at the same time. You will not regret it, believe me. Go there instead of Madame Tusseaud please!! ;-)
I've seen the Tempest there today and the actors were really great.
