“Summer in the City”

Regent's Park is a stunning venue for picnicking, as a Londoner it is a fantastic after work destination as it is easy to reach from most areas of the city.

The gardens, statues and fountains are worth seeking out, as well as a variety of food shops and kiosks.

One of my favourite spots in the city, my only wish being that the park was kept open after dusk in the summer as London can remain quite hot. However, Primrose Hill is just a short walk away for night-time picnicking under pretty street lamps.

“Such beauty within easy reach of the metropolis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2013

Blown away by the miles of beautiful green parkland. En route to London Zoo we took a taxi from Baker St Station, a really worthwhile "scenic tour" of this carefully conserved area.
Exiting the Zoo, we sat for a while to enjoy the views from a seat by the path, then crossed the inner ring and went over the bridge on the Canal, observing tourist barges and the Chinese restaurant.
Experience was made even nicer by the bus driver who waited for us to catch up with him, the passenger who offered me a seat, and the further scenic journey back to Baker St Station, where the bus pulled up conveniently right outside the station door!
I would say that for anyone spending more than a few days in London, at least half a day could be usefully spent on buses or on foot, ambling around the area and refreshing the lungs, not to mention enjoying the beauty of the Park.
Now I am wondering about a canal trip?

“A place of tranquility and adventure all rolled into one”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

An oasis in the centre of London. With lovely walks around the lake. Boating on the lake too. Concerts around the bandstand, world renowned open air theatre, and american baseball on Sundays. The flower beds are lovely at times.
