“Not just a bed of roses”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Queen Mary’s Gardens is at the southern end of Regent’s Park, near York Gate, containing London’s largest collection of roses. There’s also the Delphinium Border, the Mediterranean Border, and the Begonia Garden.

As with any area of a park, you can just stroll through it, but these gardens are meant for more than that, which is why benches are placed as strategic points throughout.

If you like flowers, and especially roses, the best time to visit is early June.

“Roses blooming mid September”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

I was afraid that it is too late for roses in London but I was wrong. Roses were blooming as far as eyes could see. It was magnificent. I explored every corner of this garden: with every pace and every turn of head I was greeted with a different vista. It was not only the flowers but the layout of the garden, the thoughtfulness of planting so that you see all the different shades of green, or orange with purple, or be converted to love your least favourite colour; in my case, yellow.

I have whinged about poor quality of food at attractions but no such complaints here. I ate at the garden's cafe and was treated to the best lunch I'd ever tasted in London.

“Quite simply the best in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

I was brought up in London and was taken to this garden from infancy. It is a wonderful example of horticultural skills at their best. The team of gardeners are totally dedicated to keeping and displaying the gardens in optimum condition all year round.
Come in the depths of winter and seek out the snowdrops, in spring for a joyfull burst of colour from the myriad flowering bulbs.
Summer is the best time of course because of the matchless collection of roses. Every type, colour and fragrance are here to be enjoyed by all - for free ! Visit in autumn for the later flowering plants and fiery hues of the leaves. Queen Mary's Gardens draws you back time and time again. There is the bonus of a tea rooms/small restaurant too !

We have been there at the end of june 2013 and the roses were simply magnificent. It is a good idea to spend a morning on the gardens and it's surroundings.

“Best flower garden in any park in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

Located in Regent's Park; this must be the most amazing flower garden in any park of London. Make sure to go in when the flowers are in full bloom.
