Owner description: Visitors can reach South London by crossing this bridge, which offers the most romantic and sweeping views of any of London's bridges.

Walked across here on our way back to our hotel and was amazed by the views both ways so glad we had the camera with us. What was more amazing though was that you can park on the bridge at night! There were plenty of spaces there on the single-yellow lines but obviously well used by those 'in the know'. A very short walk for those going to the theatre or shopping.

Waterloo bridge and its surrounding area is full of great sites, attractions and things to do. From the bridge itself, which is a beautiful bridge in its own right with brilliant vistas of the London waterfront, to the local museums and the London eye with its own spectacular views across the city. There are plenty of places to eat and drink from bars and brasseries to shops and stalls with tastes and prices to suit everyone weather you want to spend a couple of hours out and about or a whole day exploring.

A stylish modern bridge by Giles Gilbert Scott (who designed Battersea Power Station and the red telephone box) it is on the curve of the river. Although Monet never painted it and Wordsworth never eulogised about it, the views downstream to the city and upstream towards parliament are much better than from Westmenster bridge

Whether is day or night Waterloo Bridge has some of the best riverbank views in London. On one side you have St. Paul's Cathedral, The Oxo Tower, The National Theatre, the famous architecture of the city, such as 30 St. Mary Axe, better known as the "Gherkin" & many more. On the other there's yet more iconic landmarks, the London Eye, The Houses Of Parliament & the South Bank but to name a few. At night these landmarks take on a new life as they're lit up, creating stunning reflections across the river Thames.

As well as the views, Waterloo Bridge is also the link between the South Bank, a great place for culture, cinema & theatre, and the north bank the gateway to the Strand and Covent Garden, a must for anyone visiting London. I would definitely recommend taking a walk across the bridge instead of taking the bus so you have time to take in the views of both sides and enjoy some of London's finest assets.

good bridge for the views. not the most memorable bridge, especially when compared to tower or milennium but for the best all round views it's possibly the best bridge to be on.
